Hey there, this would be awesome on the Wii!!

Comment by LuzT...@Inbox.com, Jun 23, 2008

I support you all the way.

Comment by skillik, Jun 27, 2008

That would be fucking awesome o.o"

Comment by alphaguru89, Jun 27, 2008

Donations??? How can we contribute?

Comment by irfanbinmahmood, Jun 27, 2008

That would be sick, in fact even more so because we can then load the isos from a recognized hdd or usb flash drive. nice guys i can't wait for this as well!

Comment by kusanx, Jun 30, 2008

Wish you the best of lucks, hope you can make it work!! Cheers!

Comment by Satan2k, Jul 03, 2008

I took a look into the code by the google code browser api and it looks pretty well :)

I don't have the time for now to help you, sorry :(. Please keep up the good work, you rocks! ;-)

Comment by psy.hates.spam, Jul 04, 2008

"Progressive/Widescreen Resolution"

...

I'm setting this to my homepage.

Comment by chrisclan1903, Jul 08, 2008

Very cool!

But you guys haven't finished the Mupen64 port yet have you?

So cool :D

Comment by Satan2k, Jul 08, 2008

Good job guys, i still keep an eye on it =)

I'm so pissed off because i can't help you. I know C/C++ but nothing about emulation T_T

Please, post a proof of concept ASAP ;-)

And again, Thanks thousand times for the great work you're doing!!!

Comment by psy.hates.spam, Jul 10, 2008

You've seriously already made THAT much progress?

Amazing. Keep it up.

Comment by Satan2k, Jul 10, 2008

Comment by emukidid, Jul 16, 2008

No. Because they are CD's.

Comment by shopfinger, Jul 18, 2008

I have been working on getting CD's recognised by drive firmware, I am still looking over dumps and making adjustments though. with the release of 3.3 firmware this has become problematic however.

Comment by emukidid, Jul 18, 2008

We don't want to support CD's. Full stop.

Comment by kwijibo, Aug 05, 2008

Why not?

Comment by TheChosenOne41, Aug 05, 2008

Can this be added to http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps/In_development Also, why don't you want to support CD's? How else am I supposed to play my Legend of Dragoon now that my PS2 is gone?

Comment by hoennshell, Aug 05, 2008

That's where Bittorrent comes in. As long as you've got the game, it's legal.

Great effort guys, I can't wait to play Ace Combat 3 with a GameCube? controller!

Comment by vdubgolf96, Aug 08, 2008

This has a lot of promise, good luck!

Seriously guys, stop it with the CDs, why is it so important? Just rip the original and burn it onto an SD card or DVD, not that hard... I'd much rather have a better working emulator sooner than having a feature that you don't really need.

Comment by emukidid, Aug 14, 2008

The Wii cannot read CD's. If you meant DVD's, then yes, that will be supported.

Comment by funkamatic, Aug 23, 2008

cool. I hope this works out!

Comment by alb_a_t...@hotmail.fr, Sep 05, 2008

Is it possible to have a small text file with the source file to have the modification with next revision ? sometime i compile the sources.

thanks

(scuse againfor my english, i'm french ^^)

Comment by sugarfrosted2005, Sep 05, 2008

Hey it might actually be more compatible than the newest PS2 which are maddening glitchly PS gameplay. For example you can't use item aren't added to your inventory in ape escape. And In DW7 whenever you save maribels expeirence goes down to the 1000's And by the way the classic controller is nearly perfect for this. Try making so that the L3 and R3 are on the Wiimote, just a thought. And could you try two have it so it supports a multidisc games on one DVD.

Comment by MARTINSTATIC, Sep 12, 2008

Excellent work, seen the tehskeen post and youtube vid yesterday, really good work :) Just thinking, dont forget to have a disc switching option for multidisc games lol

Props up for taking on such a daunting task, its been every wii-brewers dream for a while, I remember all the 'dreamposts' on Wiibrew.org a few months back haha Ill donate when I can, feel free to hit me up on msn for talk about the whole thing (you can find my addy at a few places) As for controls, just have customisable controls and be able to save different configs (have certain configs auto-load with certain games) since no game uses all the buttons lol

Good work,

MartinStatic?

Awesome. I was hoping a psx emu would be released.

But tell me, do you guys plan to have a cheats menu in your app? Because being able to activate and deactivate gameshark and codebreaker codes would rock.

Comment by copb.phoenix, Oct 15, 2008

...PS1 games have L3 & R3 buttons?!?!?

Comment by dollsystemdown, Oct 19, 2008

Usb Support would be awesome!!

Comment by blaa_f...@hotmail.com, Oct 20, 2008

Pretty good work, guys! I'm looking forward to seeing this emulator fully functional with gui and full rom-read support (sd, usb, dvd, network). I wish you the best of luck! -theBLUEBIRD-

Comment by DShuev, Oct 30, 2008

Best of luck to you, guys - hope both PSX and N64 emulators for GC will see the light of day :o) / sigh... wish I had better command of C/C++ and understanding of h/w to help out... /

Comment by youngg30...@yahoo.com, Nov 12, 2008

Hey guys, have you all ever heard of mugen? If so do you think mugen wll be cool on wii? If emukidd put mugen on wii it will be a very big hit. Trust me on this one.

Comment by shinhalsafar, Nov 12, 2008

This is awesome! Any instruction on compiling. Do I just need devkitpro and then run the Makefile in the Gamecube directory to get the .dol file?

Comment by miticodo...@libero.it, Nov 22, 2008

i'm very happy you are going on with your work

i think everybody is looking for your emu!

thanks a lot

Comment by bobstar8...@hotmail.com, Dec 01, 2008

Another project, geeze i'm proud of u guys. The Wii64 and PCSXGC are my most anticipated project's.

I wish you the best of luck with these projects

Comment by thegamefreak0134, Dec 11, 2008

I'll just try to be a properly punctuated fan here... ahem

I'm having issues getting the compiled code to run on Wii. I got pointed here from a page on wiibrew that seems to be a non-working unofficial build, yet his build and my build from the source code here both crash immediately. Is the project to a booting state right now? (As in, is the crash on startup already known?) Other than that, I won't pester you further until I am able to properly start testing things. Good luck, I think I just added another much-desired emulator to my watch list. _

Comment by thegamefreak0134, Dec 12, 2008

I got it to work. For those who are having crash issues, the trick is to create a directory called PSXISOS and put your ISO images of games there. I was able to get FF7 to boot and run. Currently, it has freaked out halfway through the intro movie and isn't playing nicely, but for an unreleased alpha this is freaking impressive.

You already have working video and sound, basically the only things left for you to do are bugfixes and speed optimizations. Well, that and I'm sure Classic Controller support is up there, playing with the GC controller is going to be clunky. I'm getting FF7 to run at about half speed (30FPS, I'm pretty sure it should be running at 60) If I can get my ISO ripper to like me, I'll test it with some other games.

So I guess my real questions at this point are, can I do anything other than just load an ISO and try to play it? Is there anything within the emulator (settings) that I can toggle on or off? Or are there defines I can set to try out different things when compiled?

Comment by svin83, Jan 13, 2009

When will there be a compiled testversion to download?

Comment by youngg30...@yahoo.com, Jan 21, 2009

I can't wait to play it.

Comment by youbrokemycrayons, Feb 01, 2009

I tried playing Tales of Destiny on this, and it worked fine up until I ran into a battle. None of the character sprites showed up. D:

But besides that, awesome work so far. I support you all; this thing is the best homebrew I've ever seen.

Comment by miticodo...@libero.it, Feb 16, 2009

new version? :D

Comment by matt.andruff, Apr 01, 2009

Hey need help? Willing to help where I can ... It's been a while since I wrote C/C++ but I'm interested in helping.. Let me know what I can do.

Comment by funkamatic, Apr 08, 2009

^^me too, I know a little C++ and other programming. Let us know if you need any grunt work done!

Comment by miticodo...@libero.it, Jun 29, 2009

Very nice to know you started again to work on the project!

I tried your beta with castlevania and it works aweseome.

Now i think this needs just some tuning to be perfect.

First steps could be cleaning code, better sound emu, more stable fps (and an option to remove the fps counter from screen :D).

Anyway i'm impressed from the improvements, keep up the good work

Comment by kev1210r...@msn.com, Jun 29, 2009

USB HD loading would be nice seeing as most games are quite large. :-)

Comment by g.chavez201, Jun 30, 2009

The compatibility in this Beta is great! Keep up the good work guys. I'm looking forward to playing a lot of these classics all over again. Once the cdda streaming is 100% this emulator will be perfect in my eyes. Thanks again!

Comment by shining_...@hotmail.com, Jul 01, 2009

FIX THE DISK 2 THING! SORRY FOR CAPS BUT ITS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

Comment by XxDark.Link777xX, Aug 06, 2009

what about a multi-psx game dvd?

would this be possible?

Comment by pardyj, Aug 24, 2009

I wish you the best of luck with this emulator! I can't wait for release!

Comment by correodelbruce, Oct 10, 2009

Regarding that Playstation hardware is pretty similar to Namco System 11 & 12 arcade boards, and even others such like Capcom Sony ZN-1, I wonder if WiiSX MIPS dynarec could be capable of giving some sort of preliminary emulation for any Playstation hardware-based arcade boards in a future (not necessarily by the present team). I mean, you are gonna use the dynarec for both WiiSX and Wii64, so can it fit in R3000A/R4000 based boards mame ports as well? I think you have created a key component for future wii developments and I do hope your awesome dynarec can be used to bring a few others great systems to our consoles. Of course, no doubt nowadays you guys are coding two of the most important apps that Wii users will ever have, so thanks a lot for your hard work and good luck with everything to come.

Comment by juchoc...@hotmail.com, Oct 19, 2009

great job on the psx emulator good luck for coding the rest of that great thing

i'm glad you started working on the project again. i've been checking your page almost every day.

keep up the great work!

Comment by SonicXxRush, Nov 02, 2009

Keep it up guys! I can't wait to play Rayman and Megaman Legends 1 and 2! I already had them ripped as binarys so I'm ready to play whenever you guys are done! =P

Comment by nuanimal1984, Nov 12, 2009

Been abusing the "beta1" build of WiiSX and love what you guys have done. I have been adding info to the WiiSX game compatibilty table on Wiibrew.org - out of curiousity, is this a site you approve of?

Comment by leifh90, Dec 22 (5 days ago)

In twisted metal 2, it's impossible to enter the god mode cheat because you need to hold R1, R2, L1, and L2. :(

Crash Bandicoot 1, and Twisted Metal 2-4 work really well. Tekken 2 and 3 are unplayable. 2 is too slow and 3 is deformed. Haven't tried the first yet.

Aside from that, this is the best playstation emulator i've seen on a console.
