What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Unlock the phone.
2. Notice there is a dark gradient overlay at the top on the screen (over the google search and a litte below that)
3. Press the options button.
4. Notice the dark gradient flickers a bit (disappears and reappears quickly).
5. Go to step #3, this happens agains

What kernel are you running?

It would really help if you could provide a logcat when the problem occurs.
* Grab aLogcat:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat&hl=en
* Reproduce the problem
* Open aLogcat and save the logcat
* Attach it here

Please provide any additional information below.

If you set the wallpaper to a lighter/whiter tone it will be easier to notice.
I've also attached a video demonstrating this issue.

Holy crap, man... This is really specific. Anyway I noticed it too... However this will most likely never get a fix.
