K7Zx
k7zx , wav tool for spectrum
IntroductionK7zx converts .tap .tzx .z80 files to wav. From normal speed up to verĂ½ high speed ( theorically 38,400 bps) New version 4.3 of k7zx can convert sbb files (created with OtlaBuilder) to wav files DetailsOtlaPlayer converts .sbb to .wav using one of the many encoding techniques avalable in spectrum tool k7zx. (Shavings Slow which offers best ratio speed/reliability). Spectrum users although may preffer other techniques for shorter loading times.

Hello, I am using the k7zx to convert tap / tzx files to high speed loading stuff, I am using method "shawings raudo 2.25" - probably maximum speed for real spectrum - you can visit my page dedicated to HS loading "http://sites.google.com/site/zximmortal". I have no experience in programming, so my question to you as project leader are:
I am using K7ZX v 4.3 - and for creating data tapes I am using method Shawings raudo 2.25.
1) can be K7ZX routinne for ZX spectrum reprogrammed to be smaller ? (by using routinne just for shawings raudo 2.25 loading, all other routinnes from loader should be cleared) - I have problems to convert many programs due to their lenght.
2) I noticed that K7ZX routinne loads data continuously - from 16384 - to end of memory. I am creatings wav files - to be maximum similar to original loading, many times I experience problem that game needs to load 2 SCREEN$ - one before loading data, and second one - after loading game data (which is used as in game panel) - for example Aliens from Electric dreams. Is possible to reprogram K7ZX to load 2 screen$ ?
3) Last question: Many games are also using compress technique - for example - games loads data - then by using USR xxxxx command are data decompressed - and using second USR yyyyy command is game started - Its not possible to use 2 USR commands in K7ZX yet, could be K7ZX reprogrammed ? :-)
Anyway I am going to play with OTLA 2.2 project now (I downloaded OTLA, and I am going to try convert some games first - maybe I will decide to use OTLA instead of K7ZX) , buy my questions are still in line.

An interesting option would be to modify the parameters of the LAME encoding.
