Telefónica Móviles España in the Open.movilforum.com iniciative has opened the specification of an HTTP interface for sending and an API of SMS reception. This allows developers to create applications that can send and receive SMS.

OSAP is the implementation in PHP of this gateways. It has been implemented as a new PEAR::Net_SMS gateway.

PEAR::Net_SMS is a PEAR extension that offers a common interface for sending and receiving SMS using different SMS gateways.

So for being more specific, OSAP is the implementation of the OpenMovilforum SMS send and Receive APIS as a PEAR::Net_SMS class.

What do I need to run OSAP

There are two non-technical mayor issues:

To send SMS you need to be a Telefonica España client, that is have a SIM card with an assigned number.
To receive SMS you need to follow the Instructions of Movilforum.

And technical requirements:

PHP
Some knowledge of PEAR Extensions
