you can also install the script from XBMC Repo Installer or XBMC Zone in which case skip to step 3

1.) Unzip OpenSubtitles_OSD v1.27.zip

2.) Copy OpenSubtitles_OSD folder to user's script folder

--- on ATV /users/frontrow/Application support/XBMC/scripts/

--- on Mac OS /users/{your user name}/Application support/XBMC/scripts/

--- on Win32 \Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Application Data\XBMC\scripts\ <--- Application Data folder might be hidden.

3.) Download the skin hack for the skin you are using

4.) Copy files from skin folders, media and 720p, to their respective places in your skin folders. Make sure you backup the original .xml files first.

I'm using the nightlies for AppleTv? and they already have Confluence as a skin included, so there is no confluence in the skins directory. Can I install the skin hack too then or..?

you just need to enable subtitle button and set the path to the script.

Settings -> skin settings -> Scripts (or something like that, I am not in front of XBMC right now)

I tried to do the Hack inthe .app contents (where is the original confluence skin ) but xbmc won't run after that.. thks

Ok sorry guys, The hacks simply works, I wasn't doing it properly : I was replacing the whole Média & 720p folder whereas just adding the hacks contents. Now I've the button. Thanks for your work anyway. and Hello from france xD

How about Linux?

Comment by ncas...@gmail.com, Sep 2, 2010

Hmm.. I get the button and the script sorta works. My only problem is there is no background behind the text, and I can't see what subtitle I have selected. I've followed the instructions to the letter. I guess my problem lies with the skin. I'm running XBMC Live 9.11 and Aeon Stark.

Has anyone had similar problems, and knows how to solve them?

Comment by project member amet1...@gmail.com, Sep 2, 2010

maybe ask on Aeon Stark forum thread on forum.xbmc.org, it certainly is a skin issue.

Yes I did use that hack.

I've tried reinstalling your script and the skin, but no go.

The includes.xml in 720p in the script is almost empty, so when I move that file to the skin-folder, XBMC starts up completely black.

all you need to do is unzip Aeon Stark.zip move "VideoOSD.xml" to skins 720p folder replace one thats there already and move "osd_button_sub.png" to media/osd folder, all should be fine
