Perhaps it's already here somewhere but an architectural block diagram really helps people grok new software systems more quickly. Any chance you could point us to one? THANKS!

Good work Google!

This really sounds like an interesting development and I'm glad to see a sample project available for me to take apart and find out how it all 'ticks'.

I'll try and get some time next week to play with this, but initially all looks really good!

God!, javascript has come a long way from it's humble beginnings.

As digerat said, if you've got any example diagrams or extra's that might further help newcomers that'd be swell.

Sincerely and thanks for releasing all this,

You ROCK!

John.

Hello,

I'm new to this concept. I don't get the first requirement which is: "URL to the gadget definition"

Should I have a gadget already?

Please help me with this.

Thanks, amit

It did not work for me. It got my IE hung and on Firefox it kept giving this message

"Fetching gadget from examples/listfriends.xml ... If this message persists make sure your URLs are in the same domain as this page."

I tried from local filesystem and local tomcat server.

What am I missing. Please advise

Thanks, pranav

The browser is hanging and not doing anything until I close the samplecontainer.html window.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks, Kalyan Lanka

Sorry for the confusion.

Again tested the same and it worked very well in Firefox 2.0.0.11. I have tested the beta version 1.04

Thanks, Kalyan Lanka

It worked for me on Firefox too. Upon further investigation I found that opensocial is currently not being supported on all the browser versions. Once there is a stable version all the browsers including IE will be supported. For now keep it on firefox.

yes,I found it worked on firefox2.0,but "Cannot fetch container state from examples/state-listfriends.xml" in IE6.0
