Open Plaques is a service that aims to find and provide data about all the commemorative 'plaques' (often blue and round) that can be found across the UK and worldwide.

The project is fully open source, and this project contains all of the server code for the website, which is written in Ruby on Rails, as well as a central bug tracker and list of planned features.

As the project relies 100% on volunteers, we welcome any help you can give us.

If you'd like to help contribute code, you can get started by checking out the source - see installation requirements if you need help. There is also a developers mailing list you can join to discuss ideas or coding suggestions.

Alternatively, you can simply report bugs or suggest new features, both of which are equally helpful.
