Description about the ScreenViewer Function

Requirements

all Platforms and Combinations (Mac,Windows,Linux) all you need is Java version greater 1.4.2 (1.4.2 was release June 26, 2003 ... current version is 1.6.0) or you will need to download Java Web Start from Sun based on JavaWebStart

Description

  • Its a simple Viewer which will work on 99% of all systems.
  • Only Moderator can share desktop (so only one person at a time)
  • You can alter the Quality while running.
  • You will be able to zoom to a area on your desktop(sharing area can be altered in client)
  • it is integrated into whiteboard sothat you or others (the moderater of the conference) can draw over the shared screen while sharing is running
  • Sharing Client and Viewing Client get notifications of bad bandwidth

64bit systems are currently unable to use this feature, perhaps a stand alone Java app could be provided as well.

This is nearly a standalone java applications. I will fill an Issue. Do you have some information why 64Bit systems are unable to use this feature? Does JavaWebStart? not work for 64Bit systems? And is this a server or client side problem with Java-WebStart?? As far as i can see it is only a problem for people with 64Bit on Solaris 64-Bit/x64 and Linux x64. So windows 64Bit should work. Anyway i can provide a patch for that for a future release with a standalone application.
