I feel there should be a button to turn this off, because it really sucks aways
any money that I have. That or move it to the last place of the priority chain.
I think the main objective for the MI should be to stabilize and secure every
single planet by setting up a basic infrastructure (trading centre, bank,
factories) and the maximum possible defense (5 meson cannon and 5 fortress +
planetary shield + bunker at the end of the game for example) available. Then
build planetary bases, finally populate the planets with tanks.

The money consumption is partially an issue with the multi-action changes
introduced lately. I'll update the AI to respect your auto-build limit and the
money-consumption of the actions while planning.
Problem with AIs is that they usually don't do things the way you would. AI
decision making is based on many factors and there is no gerenal way of letting
the user parametrize its behavior. Using the fixed order you suggested of
buildings ends up having strong economy and weak defenses. An acceptable
strategy employed by the AI is to mix the options randomly.

I see, then the easy way to fix this would be the buttons to turn off these
things separately in the options menu. Because this way, when I have over 50
planets I get around 500k credits / day and it disappears instantly because of
planetary base production / tank production / fleet production / auto building
and research. This way, I often end up with planets that have like 1 meson
cannon or 6 tanks or 1 planetary base, which is quite inefficient because that
many tanks or meson cannons aren't capable of defending any attacks and they
just waste resources. And to fix this, you have to turn the MI controlled mode
off everywhere.
