Introduction
This document describes the roadmap for future OpenForum releases going on from the 2.0 release due October 2007
Development Mile Stones
Release 2.0 Timetabled for release Nov 2007
- A stable release with no high priority issues open
- Javascript integration in place.
- Dynamic Java plugins possible
- Documentation complete
Release 2.1 Timetabled for release Dec 2007
- Upgrade and patch process automated
- Client side Javascript object orientation
- Use of Server Side Javascript libraries
- Integration API for use with external Web sites and Services
- New RESTful page functionality (using FlyWeight pattern)
- New attachment embedding (Embed interactive white boards, webcams and screen recordings) (Fully extendable)
- Special USB memory stick version
Release 2.2 Timetabled for release Jan 2008 (Released Feb 2008)
Release 2.3 Timetabled for release Sept 2008
- Screen capture and Screen recording integration
- Integration with Hardware devices
- Integration with popular software and web services
- Move Documentation closer to where it is used (eg. Javascript documentation to /OpenForum/Javascript)
Release 2.4 Timetabled for release Dec 2008
- Built in Simple Image Editing (Clip, Resize, Filter)
- Visual programming and configuration platform
