issue 3 (Error "Microsoft Office Plugin - The link is being opened by...) commented on by josucm   -   Exactly the same problem for me. Winword process is NOT running at the time the message can be seen. It looks like as if Chrome does not like to let MS Office to open the link instead of Chrome itself.

issue 3 (Error "Microsoft Office Plugin - The link is being opened by...) reported by jainpj   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Install the plugin "npmsdocs.dll" to the plugins folder of Chrome 2. Restart Chrome (Ensure all instances are closed) 3. Open a Office 2007 file in Chrome 4. The Chrome displays the message "Microsoft Office Plugin - The link is being opened by an external application" What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected output was that the word document was opened in Chrome. Instead a message "Microsoft Office Plugin - The link is being opened by an external application" was displayed in Chrome What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I am using Windows XP SP2, Office 2007 and Chrome 2.0.160.0 Please provide any additional information below.
