1 The Mini 9's card reader can not be booted from via the bios, however you can use a helper partition to boot an installed OS from the SD card.

2 The Lenovo S10 reports itself as "Lenovo" and as such it currently cannot be distinguished from other Lenovo devices.

Comment by chri...@gmail.com, Aug 26, 2009

I notice the Hibernation column is blank. Does that mean it does not currently work ?

Comment by project member Meklort@gmail.com, Aug 26, 2009

As far as I know, hibernation doesn't work on the mini 9, however you can enable it on the mini 10v (and others) with a patched chameleon build. I'll try to incorporate the patch in NebookInstaller?, however it isn't too high on my priority list.

Comment by nichol...@gmail.com, Aug 26, 2009

what is your experience with the mini 110? i see that its listed, but what do the empty boxes mean?

Comment by markmc...@gmail.com, Aug 26, 2009

I've trying this on a MSI Wind (286my). 2GB Ram/Gigabyte AirCruiser?(native Airport). I've been using this on SL 10a432. Works! Install is smooth. However my install hangs at the Migration Assistant. Could this be a wireless config issue? Should I be connected by ethernet at startup?

Best wishes!!

Comment by mikehil...@gmail.com, Aug 26, 2009

Since the HP Mini 110 is listed but not filled in yet, does it mean it's a work in progress? That would totally make my day as I just got a 110. :)

Comment by ballie...@gmail.com, Sep 10, 2009

I am also curious if you guys are going to include HP Mini 110 functionality into your Netbook-Installer app. I love where you guys are going with it, and I'd love to use it on my HP 110 too!

Comment by farahsal...@gmail.com, Sep 10, 2009

Hi the samsung nc10 didnt work properly until i installed legacy graphics drivers

Comment by project member Meklort@gmail.com, Sep 10, 2009

@balliettb The best way to get support added in is to try it out and let me know what works and doesn't. I'll try to add any kexts to make it work better for your machine.

@farahsalessa, Could you explain a bit more what you mean (what didnt work, what did you add, etc)

Comment by tol...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2009

When will we see MSI Wind in the 10.6 table here? ;) Just let us know if you hardware ids, kexts or anthing else for our models.

Comment by bittenb...@gmail.com, Sep 15, 2009

Hi all, I would like to note that the Acer Aspire One D150 also works perfectly with this netbookinstaller, only had to add the voodooHDA and Attalansic kexts to get audio and wired networking working. the rest worked flawlessly.

only experiencing kernel panics in TimeMachine? at the moment, currently investigating.

seems to not like it when backup file becomes larger than 4GB...

so basically it works like a charm ;)

Comment by bittenb...@gmail.com, Sep 16, 2009

Well the issue kernel panics is solved by adding VoodooBattery?.kext to my Extra kexts. so in general the AA1 D150 with Atom 280 is fully working, stable, and all hardware works as expected, except sleep, but has always been the trouble with this netbook.

I would say this to be supported with extra kexts, installs easily.

Comment by farahsal...@gmail.com, Sep 17, 2009

i would like to edit my initial post with more specifics as i deleted the partition and started over noting the steps i took.

first of all i have a US NC10 with bios updated to version 9.

i installed using the netbook maker and after it finished the install and rebooted, i got a grey screen but the sounds was working and i could hear the mac os assistant.

i then booted into my leopard partition and open netbook installer and checked the following boxes: chameleon, extensions, dsdt, disable hibernation, fix blootooth i restarted.

the graphics then worked, but i lost audio. so i installed applehdakext from the other snow thread on the forum using kext utility and sound now works.

i dont understand why i had a different experience from everyone else. i think maybe its the diff bios version.

Comment by NighTa...@gmail.com, Sep 19, 2009

AOD 150 results in good installation, but then reboot as the video starts to play. Touching the system registration file allows the system to load the desktop background, but then the immediate reboot occurs. Trying a retail/vanilla install now.

Comment by gabriel....@gmail.com, Sep 19, 2009

Installed on my lenovo S10-2, easy install, fixed the audio with VoodooHDA, and removed IOATAFamily.kext. I have not tested ethernet, but I guess it won't work, same for sleep. I'm not sure about the microphone, and I can't get the camera to work. Thanks Meklort.

Comment by bittenb...@gmail.com, Sep 23, 2009

AOD150 10.6 installed and fully operational, with extra kexts, rare KP with reference to PowerManagement?, ( during high IO) updated to 10.6.1 added VoodooBattery?.kext, Atlansic.kext and a airport extreme wireless card.

video = ok sound = ok wireless = ok ( with replaced mini pci-e card) bluetooth ( hardware not built in) external USB BT adapter works well network = OK with atlansic.kext WWAN : n/a card reader = OK

Comment by tocra...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2009

Tried install on Acer A0751H, hangs on spinning wheel with 10.6. Kernel panics when trying -f or -x boot options.

Comment by itsjoe...@gmail.com, Oct 3, 2009

It says Dell Mini 10v, but does this also include the Mini 10 (since it has a different integrated graphics adapter)?

Comment by project member Meklort@gmail.com, Oct 3, 2009

Nope, 10v only. You might be able to install on the mini 10, but there would be no video acceleration.

Comment by uvah...@gmail.com, Oct 8, 2009

does the 10v install work with the g/n wifi card (1510) or just the g one (1397)?

Comment by nate92...@gmail.com, Oct 8, 2009

Asus eeePC 1008ha runs very well with this on 10.6, have been using it for a month or so. Everything works except Ethernet and WLAN (not supported), and sound with the addition of the VoodooHDA kext.

Comment by victor...@gmail.com, Oct 12, 2009

I have a 10v with the 802.11n wifi. It works. Hackintosh Dell Mini 10v

Comment by grom...@gmail.com, Oct 17, 2009

I've got the Acer AOD150 and the install seemed to go smoothly. However every time I boot, just as the desktop is about to appear, i.e. it goes from booting to the point where a cursor can be seen, then it shuts down and reboots.

Anyone else having this problem?

Comment by grom...@gmail.com, Oct 17, 2009

I should add that this is using Snow Leopard

Comment by lrodrigu...@gmail.com, Oct 19, 2009

I have an acer AOD150 doing the same exact thing. I thought it was about to work, the cursor come up for a second and as the desktop is about to load, it reboots its self. Any solution?

Comment by DamnBig...@gmail.com, Oct 20, 2009

I've been trying with the Mini 110 and have had mixed results. Unfortunately none of them have been all that successful. When I try to install 10.5.6 I get a kernel panic with the AppleIntelPowerManagement?.kext, I've tried removing the kext from the install media but I still get the kernel panic so 10.5 is a no go.

10.6 installs perfectly and seems to run great aside from there being no driver support for anything I need. Namely sound and more importantly networking of any kind.

Anyone able to help me out? I'd love to help get it working on the 110.

Comment by DamnBig...@gmail.com, Oct 20, 2009

I should probably also add that I tried 10.5.6 with NetbookInstaller? 0.8.2, 0.8.3 RC1 and 0.8.3 RC3.

Comment by luciatt...@yahoo.com, Oct 22, 2009

I try to install Snow Leopard on Samsung NC10, bluetooth work, WLAN don't work with original Wifi card. Ethernet controller work but the mac address is 00:11:22:33:44:55.

Comment by ash.vash...@gmail.com, Oct 23, 2009

hello i am trying to install snow leopard on acer AOD 150 and i am getting a panic when MAc os x tries to install. it says that CPU Type is not supported, did any one encountered this when trying to install snow leopard? thanks

Comment by ilginnyc@gmail.com, Oct 24, 2009

I think you can/should add the Lenovo S10e to the chart with the same specs as the S10, but Netbook Installer does not recognize it as supported hardware. (I initially ran the generic install, ignoring the warning, but sound and sleep didn't work, so I forced the Lenovo S10 install by messing with machines.plist.)

Comment by carlm...@gmail.com, Oct 25, 2009

I'm having the same problem as ash.vashist, my the install image loads and I can run all the utilities, but during the install the system panics, apparently after copying all the packages to the target disk.

Hello every one,

I want to know if osx will work on Samsung Go(N310). if any one knows let me know because they are goin for cheap now a days. thanks

Comment by holger.m...@gmail.com, Oct 25, 2009

My Samsung NC10 with Snow Leopard works better than the table suggests:

Audio - the built in speakers, headphones and the built in microphone work but I have no external mic to test; Touchpad - works fine, with two finger scrolling; Bluetooth - my unit has HSPA modem instead; Card Reader - works fine; Ethernet - works fine; WLAN - works fine, but I've replaced the original card with an airport extreme card; WWAN - works fine; Sleep & Hibernation - works fine, when using a dsdt.aml which disables wake-on-usb

THis site offers a working dsdtl.aml and the VodooPower?.kext, which offers better power magement: http://the.taoofmac.com/space/com/Samsung/NC10

To answer people's questions about the HP 110 Mini:

1. I could install 10.6 without issues, but WiFi? does NOT work. I also could not find a USB WiFi? stick that would work (The Netgear WG111 V3 wouldn't work either).

2. Barring the WiFi? issue, there's also a bunch of hacks to get 10.6 installed (http://mymacbookmini.blogspot.com/2009/10/hackintosh-must-have-mac-os-x-installer.html will get 10.6 up and running for you).

3. I couldn't get a working/bootable 10.5 USB drive using netbook-installer. Not sure what the issues here are. All I know is that the USB drive would boot up to the gray apple screen and then freeze.

I'm taking my HP 110 back and buying a Dell Mini 10v.

Hope that helps!

please post your results for the latitude 2100. I'm looking to do the install using SL. Thanks.

On a Dell Latitude 2100: Grey Apple Logo then the screen goes black. Sometimes after sitting for an hour, using the trackpad will cause to wake up and show the SL Welcome screen. I get get it to install only part way before getting a KP. I'm using Netbook Bootmaker 0.8.2 and 0.8.3.

Hi, i could really use a bit of help. Mac guy for 20 years, have hardly ever touched windows. Trying to install on a Acer d150. Cannot get the machine to respond at all to a USB-based install. It sees the drive, but when I move FDD to the top priority in Bios and try to boot, it hangs for two or three minutes, then eventually boots in windows. Have reformated/reinstalled the USB drive repeatedly, and have tried several different versions of the install file. Bootmaker says it alters the drive correctly, but no matter what I do, it never, ever boots. Suggestions?

I haven't tried with a DVD yet...am I likely to have more success that way? And if anybody could sort of itemize the initial setup, that would be great. I completely know what to do once the Mac install process begins, but getting to that point just isn't working. Most step-by-steps I've read seem to assume a fair amount of PC awareness and so are kind of written in shorthand for those steps, and then get very detailed for the Mac install portion. I need just the opposite. If anybody can help, I would truly appreciate it.

Dell Mini 10v running Snow Leopard here. Ran Netbook Boot Maker 0.8.3 RC3 and all works except for audio... NetbookInstaller? 0.8.3 RC3 does not install WLAN or display properly. JFYI

Acer Aspire One D150. Had various problems with reboots, kernel panics etc. Installed BIOS 1.08 (glad I didn't wipe that Windows disk!) and I can get a clean and stable install. If anyone can point me at any additional KEXTs I should be using I'd appreciate it (I'm new to all this!).

Comment by reconbot, Nov 19, 2009

I have a Mini 9 n series (910?) with bios A05 (latest) and snow leopard. And I can confirm that other then the fact that the headphone jack doesn't work everything works wonderfully. Occasionally I have to try to boot it a few times to get it to go but sleep works and the wifi is nice and powerful (probably not a netbook-installer thing ;-) )

Why do the headphones work in 10.5 but not 10.6? Is there something I can do for it?

I am just trying now to install on the Acer Aspire One 250 (AOD250-1165) and the SL install crashes randomly, but always before the progress bar reaches the "g" in "Installing", with the time remaining @ 29 minutes. The netbook as the latest BIOS v1.22 installed, I am not sure what the issue is.

Is there any working HOW-TO guide on how to install Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on an HP Mini 110-1030nr. I have 10.5.8 working splendidly but really want SL to work. elcapatino@gmail.com

Comment by gwerhart...@gmail.com, Nov 25, 2009

An update on SL install to the Aspire One AOD-250. I downgraded the BIOS to version 1.03 and the install completed, but it gets into an endless reboot cycle. I tried using "-x", but it also fails ... I will keep at it.

Comment by ellenmag...@gmail.com, Nov 25, 2009

Any one successful with the Gateway LT2005u?

Comment by twumpsan...@gmail.com, Nov 25, 2009

Thank you for the wonderful site and excellent tools and user-guides. Top-notch! This site made my netbookintosh dreams a possibility.

Last night, I used the windows guide to install SL onto an Acer Aspire D150 sucessfully. My BIOS was version 1.05, which caused the system to repeatedly restart right before showing the intro video. Since I had wiped XP and replaced it with SL, I had to use a thumbdrive to update the BIOS to 1.11 using FreeDos? and unenbootin downloaded from another windows machine. The system got up and working, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it worked (video settins, speed, etc), with the exception of a kernel panic every 5 minutes or so. Installing 3 kexts (voodoobattery, voodooHDA , and Attalansic) seemed to help with the KPs.

Afterwardss, I tried to use migration assistant to move Microsoft Office and my user account settings from a Time Machine backup of my old mac onto the Aspire, and I think that was a bad choice. My applications inexplicably disappeared from the dock and HD afterwards. I was also trying to instal RC4 to update to 10.6.2, but every time I ran the program, my machine KP'd.

So I wiped my HD and tried to install again, this time reverting my BIOS back to 1.05 to start afresh. But I'm stuck now. I can install 10.6.0 just fine, but I need to update the BIOS to 1.11 so my machine does not restart continually, but my machine no longer will boot off of FreeDos? or any other system I put on a thumbdrive, except the Mac OSX installer. When I tell it to boot of the thumbdrive with FreeDos??, it says "boot0:error" and then quickly tries to start OSX.

I am not sure If there are MBR files that my system lacks to read the USB drive now that I wiped my HD and made it GUID with one partition. If anyone had any pointers, I would greatly appreciate them. I will let you know what I figure out in case anyone else is in a similar bind.

Comment by roark...@gmail.com, Nov 26, 2009

No luck so far with my lt2005u. After trying a few other options, I grabbed netbook-installer and still no progress. Others http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muKBwIUf5iE have had mixed results.

Comment by twumpsan...@gmail.com, Nov 28, 2009

The problem was with my thumbdrives-- only one of them would boot my machine. I got SL working on the AOD 150, but now it randomly KP's every few minutes. I installed VoodooHDA, VoodooBattery?, and Attansic. It seems to be stable under Safe Mode. The card reader does work fine with SL, but I have not been able to get the internal microphone working.

Comment by slimmarg...@gmail.com, Dec 3, 2009

I've been trying to install on a Compaq/HP Mini 110c-1110ez with no luck. I am using leopard, and I've tried both NBI 0.8.2 and 0.8.3 RC4 with the same results. In both cases I get to the grey screen with the apple, but never see a spinning wheel. Booting with mach_kernel -f -v gives me the same final error in all cases:

Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin?

Any ideas of how to get past this?

Hello All,

I have a D250-1Bb, and a new DW 1510 wifi mini card, but for the life of me the card wont reconginise in mac, picks up from lspci as 14e4:4322 Broadcom, but never switches on...

I need a few hints and tips, i have the Dell mini wifi card on the internal pci, have tried the pin 20 methord but this never worked, i had win 7 aswell with the correct drivers from dell using the manual install methord, but cannot get the card to "boot" as in no power.

If i play with the switch on a fresh boot, sometimes the wifi card gets picked up and can be used as should be, but generally not.

Is any one else experiancing problems like this???

Havent tried in Xp yet, but will be shortly after this right up!!, I have had successfull iDeneb 1.4 installs, but no airport reported. I will be trying iDeneb 1.6 after xp as i found a guide that used a D250 and the DW1510, and apparently worked out of the box!!.

Any help or comments please email me @ richardjones779@msn.com

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 14, 2009

True @ grazykid.... Y use ideneb!!. lol, i gave up on it.

Yes i replaced the atheros with the mini dw 1510. Not sure if its just a dud card tho, as it won't work in Xp, win 7, ubuntu 9.10, or ideneb, 10.5.5 or 10.5.8

Thanks for the reply anyway grazykid

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 14, 2009

EDIT

But the card will show up in all the operating systems, just won't use it!!, think its due to the WIFI switch on the front of the laptop.

Comment by vpue...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

Any chance to get support for AOD250 soon?

thanks

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

Hello again,

Yea im a engineer checked and re checked!! lol, The switch is a 2 way switch, pulling the lappy apart and holding it on left, would pick the card up, but it would of been a hassel to keep it on perminently, so i uninstalled Snow leopard, I was getting random KP's with no log which was wierd!. I have SL on my main pc 100% quad core so not really to bother about the SL on lappy but would of been nice, might get a dell mini for complete compatibility!!. i was on the 1.22 bios. Did you just have the airport icon, as i had a icon (square-box like) saying network controller(greyed out). or turn off. next to it the airport icon.

What slot did you have the wifi in?

did you have to mess avout with pin 20??, or did it just work?,

Also what exact model of laptop have you got i have the AOD250-0Bb

Comment by grazy...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

I have the same laptop as you the aod250 - 0Bb, i had those random kexts u mentioned, and i fixed them with a weird way of doing things. I have found an extra250 from a site from the aceraspireoneuser forums. i think it was extra250 rev 3? , and i went on the extra folder on my drive and replaced everything with that folder i downloaded, the computer then did not boot up:D, so i then re runned the boot up usb stick with sl and used netbook maker installer, and re installed everything. and then Ta da everything was super stable:P , I ve been using it since then and have not got any stability issues, its the same as my macbook:D .. i guess in someway the drivers from the folder i replaced got installed along site with the netbook maker and everything co exists. i tried to just put the kexts with the netbook maker kexts but that did not work.

about your other questions, the switch thing u say is really weird, i never did touch that, i have the airport icon just like my mac and it works exacly as my mac, nothing different. The square box is for ethernet i think, which i did not get it to work, so i would ignore that. i had replaced the slot in the internal wifi slot, where the atheros wifi card was. I did not mess around with pin20, it just worked. I think the pin 20 is to fix the empty pci that has the 3g module on some models. Did you mess around with the pin 20? That might be you issue if u have!

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

Hello Again m8,

Yes i messed around with pin 20, as the first time i tried it it would not even recognise it, After cutting pin 20 it was able to pick up and use it. I have just re-upgraded my bios to same as you, and am going for another SL install, ok what is the device ID of you DW 1510, (lspci -nn) OSx86 tools can help here. Mine is (14e4:4322) which should just work.

And you tape pin 20 on the other slot to make the wifi card turn on!, on a £g card taping pin 20 will turn it off- well thats what i read over at insainlymac.

I have since tried the aethroes card in the slot with pin 20 completely removed and worked as intended, which is why im so pissed off!!! lol.

Maybe i was right, maybe the card is FKED!!, lol

but i will try the Extra250 kexts, luckily i had already downloaded them :-)

Maybe i have to change card from EN0 to WLAN or similar, as it show as an ethernet port, thanks for that info!!. but it dose show up under airport > system profiler-- Strange!.

Rich.

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

EDIT It also shows as Network Controller, is your showing as that or as wifi or something??.

Thanks again for all your help so far, Every little bit of info is helping immensely.

Rich.

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

Holla Grazy,

Those kernel panics, you didn't by chance get them on the install did ya??, with something like UTF8, "SANYO lkijijeoc(GIBBERISH)opijijeoij" as i found out if it was, its the battery, unplugged the battery for the install and worked normally.

Anyway must have different DW 1510' s then as i stated my id is different, but whilst starting up or the first time i did -v and saw the card picked up as 14e4:432b, but still a lspci shows 14e4:4322. strange!!

And i STILL have the Ethernet icon you told me about as well as the airport icon, both let me kill the wifi strange again!!.

I'm in the final stages of setting up netbook, maybe we can collerabate and make a top notch guide for others, as for us it was look at guides loosely related to the install. be nice to have a hard copy for the noobs out their.

Will have to have a poke around with the dsdt editing on this machine as well!!

Will let ya know the out come after installing kexts in the manner you did No thats just it i have no 3g module

Comment by grazy...@gmail.com, Dec 15, 2009

i dont have a 3g module either. did you do that bios thingy? or was the battery removal the fix?

ok let me know how it works out for you.

Comment by more4mo...@gmail.com, Dec 16, 2009

I left bios as the Battery was the fix,

More probs now tho!!, can's use ANY VooDoo?.kexts as they kill my wifi, URGH!!!

So pissed of with the card now, just miffed y it wont work.

Did you install it after you installed mac or before?? cheers again!

Hello - For what it's worth, 10.6.1 Snow Leopard-Retail runs on the HP Mini 110. Used the guides/utilities from http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/.

Wasn't as straight forward as I had hoped, but the OS is up and running and I'm currently working on the extensions for audio and wifi/ethernet. Hopefully can get those going soon. I also have an AT&T 3G USB "air card" that I hope to use if all else fails.

At any rate, just wanted to let you know that it does work, mostly. Thanks...

How about support for the LG X120's? WiFi? is a pain...RealTek? 8187SE, or RaLink? 2700 Ethernet, Graphics, Cardreader work vanilla... Bluetooth should but for some damn reason it only works once, and then disappears from hardware

Sleep... I'm working on ;)

Comment by Ilovemon...@gmail.com, Dec 27, 2009

Hey Grazykid,

Via email I pointed mrfoggy in the right direction. We chatted earlier and he was at 10.6.0. I have been stable for 10 days straight with no kernel panics. I don't have wired ethernet, sleep, or internal mic yet. But everything else is rock solid at 10.6.2. I used NBI/NBM 0.8.3RC4 and the USB install method. My Acer is the D250-1962. Do you have any of the above issues working yet?

working great on ACER One D250-1dk. (OSX 10.6.2 installed with NBM/NBI 0.8.3 (alpha) uploaded 25th DEC)

Never got any KP, 3 days running now. Wifi, webcam, sd/hc, Bluetooth, touchpad and keyboard special keys work out of the box.

I use voodooHDA.kext for audio out (internal speakers).

Do no work : Audio In, Sleep&Hibernation.

Comment by thomasaf...@gmail.com, Dec 30, 2009

Hey. Microcenter is selling something that they don't call a 10v, but it looks a lot lie the 10v, with the extended 6-cell battery, for $299: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0320528

One thing that I see is different is it says it has a 950 GPU, not a 945. Is this in fact a 10v? Or close enough? Does anyone else have this 950 GPU?

Also, I noticed that the Dell website says that the Mini 10 and Mini 10v both support 2G of memory. Is this an easy upgrade?

Comment by rnirn...@gmail.com, Dec 31, 2009

thank you so much for the work you guys do, really appreciate it!

Comment by stefan.b...@gmail.com, Jan 4, 2010

Update to Acer One D250-1dk : On OSX 10.6.2 :

- Audio in works with the proper voodooHDA.kext.

Do not work : - Sleep/hibernate - Gigabit Ethernet controller (Atheros AR8132), was not tested before.

Install was very simple. I used NBM/NBI 0.8.3 (alpha) uploaded 25th DEC with Snow leopard install DVD. Wireless lan worked out of the box, Snow leopard network updates to 10.6.2 worked. OSX is very stable. Never had any KP or freeze.

I just had to add the proper voodooHDA.kext for audio in and out.

I will try to get sleep/hibernate mode working and will probably post a little guide then.

Comment by debe...@gmail.com, Jan 4, 2010

Thank you for your comments. I got the D250-0DK with an other wireless card. O.8.3 does the trick, voodooHDA.kext works great. I ordered a DW1510 to get my wireless working.

Lets try to get sleep working too. Sleepenabler.kext for 1.6.2 doesn't work for me... Greetings Daniel

Thanks for your efforts guys! I am making progress getting AA 751H running; using the USB method the installer (10.6.0) fires up sweetly but no hard disk is seen. Comment by camrsta...@gmail.com, Jan 6, 2010

Update on Acer Aspire 751: use the USB method but copied the AppleIntelPIIATA.kext from the Dell Mini 10 thread to NetBootMaker?.app, install went OK 10.6 running with 1366x768, No Wifi failed to get the AR5001 going, have just bought a AppleAirport? for £20 to replace it. RealTek? works just fine. WebCam? is seen on the USB bus but doesnt work, nor does the sound, but since the Dell Mini 10 uses the same chipset it ought to work. Just updating to 10.6.2 (fingers crossed).

Comment by camrsta...@gmail.com, Jan 11, 2010

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/general-mac-os-x-discussion/14877-dell-mini-10-meet-snow-leopard.html grab the mini 10 support files. Grab the AppleIntelPIIATA.kext; replace this kext in the netbookbootmaker.app (just look inside the pkg to find where to put), then follow the instructions for USB key with MAC.

I am still without wireless network, I tried replacing the supplied wifi card with a Airport Extreme, but no joy; the card works since I put it in a really old macbook (first of the intels) and up it comes. I have put the Apple Branded atheros out of a MacBook? in the 751 and its not enabled; infact I get the same error as for the supplied AR5001.....

Since it seems that the Mini 311 (with the exception of WiFi?) works almost fully OOB, is support for the 311 coming in the near future? Other than the stock WiFi? not working and the trackpad only being able to act as a mouse it seems like the perfect candidate to be added to the NBI/NBBM supported devices list :D

I have a Acer One D250-1165 with the dreaded Atheros NIC. I used NBM/NBI latest build 8.3 RC5 or later to install Snow Leopard. Worked like a charm. Applied the combo update for 10.6.2 and its stable. No Sound, sleep, wifi, eth, or cam. USB works, touchpad works. (BIOS 1.25). Hope for better support in future versions of NBI/NBM. If anyone can tell me how to get any of this working, email me!

Comment by timothym...@gmail.com, Mar 22, 2010

Your sound and sleep should be working on the D250-1165. I used the retail SL image and patched it with netbookbootmaker, booted from the install on my flash drive and installed. Afterwards, immediately updated to 10.6.2 combo update which I downloaded previously from my flash drive. After the reboot, ran netbookinstaller and left all checked except the bluetooth option. Then, before rebooting, copied the voodoohda kext to the /Extra folder on my hard drive, ran update extra and rebooted. Now everything works except wireless, ethernet and sleep. Can't do anything about ethernet or sleep, but I do have a Half Card WiFi? PW934 MiniPCIe pulled from a Dell Latitude E6500 on the way that I got off Ebay. From reading on forums on insanelymac, this should work right away. You have to get a half card though, take the Acer apart and replace the Atheros half card it came with, then put it back together. When you boot SL, you'll get a popup that a new device was detected and Airport will work out of the box. DO NOT INSTALL TO THE 2ND MiniPCIe SLOT ON THE BOTTOM. This is for 3G cards, and you'll have to do some ridiculous hardware hacks to get this working, like rerouting the antennae cables. If you're going to take it apart to reroute cables, you might as well replace the wifi card the right way and have it working with minimal hassle. Good luck though.

I have a dell mini 910 and I am trying to follow the mechdrew install method of installing leopard 10.5. I have an external dvd drive which I am using in this process. So far, I am able to boot using the mechdrew chameleon bootloader cd.

after inserting the 10.5 disc and pushing F5, the disc starts to load, showing the apple logo. Then the install freezes with the Grey screen of death telling me to restart.

What do I do? how do I make this method work?

In my other attempts with different methods, I have gotten as far as installing leopard on this Dell Mini 910 using the Dell EFI method, however, I was only able to boot into safe mode.

Finished installing 10.6 on a Dell Latitude 2100. Kernel panic (with -v), said AppleACPIManager -> It happened when the screen goes black (ie, 5 minutes less?, without touching anything). Solution: Remove battery & try again. It worked for me. (Hint: Used -f -v -x -legacy cpus=1 i think the CPU has 2 threads, also I belive it's the same?)

The 10.6.3 (i think in 10.6.2 is the same), keep saying Kernel Panic. From what i've read, some update in 10.6.2 is responsable for making some .kext make a kernel panic (can't remember which).

Another issue with the installer: Screen goes black after dvd boot process is finished. Solution: Plug IN a external monitor, use Fn+F8 (display change), unplug the external monitor, and the installation should continue as normal in the netbook lcd.

PD: The installer issue of the screen continues on the system, must do the same, or get the old GMA kext.

The Samsung N310 (with Broadcom wifi) works with SL + NBI as follows:

1. First install SL using USB key and image of SL 10.6.0 with NBI 0.8.3 final installed on it. 2. Install 0.8.4 rc1 and then install Combo update 10.6.3 and reboot. 3. Add ALC272 kext from kexts.com into GeneralExtentions? and run UpdateExtra and restart.

That should get you 90% if not 100% there ;)
