What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. git svn clone -s svn://xxxxxxx/xxx

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected svn clone operation to procede

Initialized empty Git repository in c:/Users/Martin/xxxxxx/.git/
Can't locate object method "hash_and_insert_object" via package "Git" at
C:/Prog
ram Files/Git/bin/git-svn line 3254.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
git version 1.5.6.1.1071.g76fb
Git-1.5.6.1-preview20080701

I have the same problem on Windows XP SP2

Yes thats an known problem and as far as i know the msysgit developers dose not what
to fix this because the dont use git-svn. 

For it works to copy the "bin/git-svn" file from the 1.5.5 version to 1.5.6.1 .

As there is nobody interested in fixing git-svn, the newest preview was released
without git-svn.

Maybe some one will like git-svn?like me. But I don't know how to run it within 
msysgit.
