I ran msn-pecan-0.0.17.exe on Windows XP x64, but there is no evidence I
see to indicate that the program actually installed. Where does it get
installed to? I don't see any indication within Pidgin either. How do I
verify that it has installed, and use it?

Moreover, how do I uninstall it? At present I see no way to do this either.

The Pidgin version is 2.5.4.

Now by default it will open the HowToUse page in the wiki that tells you how to use it.

Please add a separate ticket for the uninstall option.

Oh, I should've looked at that page before opening this ticket.

"WLM" doesn't seem like an intuitive protocol name, given that the software name
contains "msn". I can't think of anyone who will automatically know that they have to
select "WLM".

It actually does make sense, when you think about it, since not even Microsoft refers
to their messenger as MSN anymore. All the newer versions are called Windows Live
Messenger, or WLM. This actually should imply that WLM is a newer/better protocol
than deafult MSN. :)

I guess that's fine as long as the HowToUse page is opened. An alternative might be
for the installer to show a graphic with the WLM protocol highlighted, if that is
even possible.

Or maybe just in the README.TXT, a quick usage guide. When I first used this plugin
I was expecting to see something along the lines of MSN (Pecan), so it did take me a
while to find what I was looking for.
