This used to be a feature in Pidgin, but it has apparently since been removed. When a contact deletes you from their contact list, it would say so in an IM window. |

Do you prefer a message in the IM icon (for example "You are not in A list") or a popup when you login? The first option is really simple to do, the second option I don't know, I will check if you prefer it. |

The first one is what Pidgin used to do. Assuming it is triggered as and when one is deleted from a contact list, I do not see why not. |

I would prefer something like libnotify so you don't get a disturbin conversation window. Or maybe a warning message in the main view. |

Hmm I'm not too sure. Personally, I think it would be better in the conversation window since it's likely to be the last part of a conversation anyway. |

What about having the two? And the notification in the conversation only when the conversation is open.

Can you test http://github.com/dfiloni/msn-pecan/commit/752ad19eab590c6911ea2ae94c8ac46137d707f0 ? It shows a message when you open the conversation window if you are not in his contact list. |
