What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Give one of your buddies an alias
2. Delete your buddy's alias (so it shows their default name)
3. Restart Pidgin

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Upon logging in again, I expect to see my buddy's real name.  Instead I see 
only my buddy's email address.


What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

If I give my buddy a blank alias, it will show my buddy's real name.  
However once I log in again it shows only the email address and I have to 
set the alias to blank again to see the real name.
