Hi,

The following files cannot be re-distributed.
  data/unicode/JIS0201.TXT
  data/unicode/JIS0208.TXT
  data/unicode/JIS0212.TXT
  data/unicode/SHIFTJIS.TXT

# Copyright (c) 1991-1994 Unicode, Inc. All Rights reserved.
#
# This file is provided as-is by Unicode, Inc. (The Unicode Consortium).
# No claims are made as to fitness for any particular purpose. No
# warranties of any kind are expressed or implied. The recipient
# agrees to determine applicability of information provided. If this
# file has been provided on magnetic media by Unicode, Inc., the sole
# remedy for any claim will be exchange of defective media within 90
# days of receipt.
#
# Recipient is granted the right to make copies in any form for
# internal distribution and to freely use the information supplied
# in the creation of products supporting Unicode. Unicode, Inc.
# specifically excludes the right to re-distribute this file directly
# to third parties or other organizations whether for profit or not.

There might be problem because CP932.TXT doesn't have the rule concerning
the re-distribution either.
Could you check it?

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro

I think the license is obsolete.
"UNICODE, INC. DATA FILES AND SOFTWARE" are released under BSD-like license.
http://www.unicode.org/copyright.html
IMHO, the Unicode Consortium will not complain about it.

I overlooked "EXHIBIT 1".
Thanks.

Hi,

The license for unicode.org things was later modified to allow redistribution
(per http://www.unicode.org/copyright.html), but the headers were never updated
by unicode. As they are not our headers to change, we have not changed them.
There are numerous opensource projects distributing these headers for many
years (including TCL, XFree86, x.org, Debian, etc), and nobody has received any
complaints.
