This is a copy of the bug report on my distribution
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=771799

Description of problem:

First, forgive me if it is a user mistake.

I have installed ibus-mozc from the fedora repo. Default installation.
Conversion shortcuts work fine when I input words. However the shortcut to
change input on
the language bar:

- Direct input
- Hiragana
- Katakana
- Latin
- Wide latin
- Half-width katakana

are not working.

For what I have seen on my system:
- Composition/Precomposition | Hiragana | Set input mode to Hiragana > Not
working.
- Composition/Precomposition | Muhenkan | Switch kana type > Not working.

I created a custom shortcut:
- Precomposition | Ctl+. | Switch kana type > Not working

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Name : ibus-mozc
Arch : i686
Version : 1.3.911.102
Release : 1.fc15

I am using Fedora 15 (en_US) on a Japanese notebook.

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to ibus-mozc input
2. Any shortcut to change kana/latin/direct input are not working

Actual results:

Selection by a right click on the icon in the language bar, and one more click
on the kana selection.

Expected results:

Switching kana/latin with from the keyboard

Additional info:

I can use the default shortcuts (see above) with ibus-anthy.

Thank you for reporting.
I could reproduce this bug and will fix until next release.

Regards.

Thank you for the fix.
Sorry, unfortunately I can't. I don't know how.
I will try the testing update from my distribution, when available, and report.

Unfortunately it is not fixed for me. See the hasty comments I made on
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=771799

custom shortcut are ineffective
Muhenkan shortcut is not working for me.
hankaku/zenkaku shortcut is not working for me.
hiragana/katkana shortcut is not working for me.

The most annoying part: the only way to switch from Japanese input to direct
input (English for me) is either to switch off the IME, either to left click on
the language bar and to select "Direct input".

Swap from my direct input language (English for me) to Kana input using the
keyboard, and without disabling the ime should be possible.

Thank you.

Thank you for the report.
Could you give me a bit more information what does "The shortcuts to change
input on the language-bar" mean in the issue title?
Do you mean you still cannot change input mode by clicking menu items on the
language bar?

As for keyboard shortcut, I confirmed that such key commands are not still
functional on the following environment, as you reported.
- Fedora 15
- ibus-mozc-1.3.975.102-1.fc15.i686
- mozc-1.3.975.102-1.fc15.i686

I filed Issue 128 to track keyboard shortcut issues separately from language
bar issue.
Please refer to Issue 128 for your keyboard shortcut problems.

Thanks,

sorry, no. I meant "Any keyboard shortcuts to change the input language are not
working". That's my issue. Ever since I have installed Mozec, I can switch
input language using clicking with the mouse, but I cannot use keyboard
shortcuts.

I voted for the issue 128. Reading the bug report, I could understand better
the problem. Thank you.

Updated the summary just for record as the original report was not related to
the language bar.

Please file a different bug rather than reusing a closed bug.

Thank you for your understanding.
