How to use Trailers with MovieJukebox
Updated Feb 4, 2010 by Stuart.Boston

Automatic Trailer Downloading / Streaming

MovieJukebox has the ability to automatically download or link to Apple.com/trailers for movie trailers. However, due to some restrictions on Apple.com trailers are not always linked to or downloaded correctly.

Settings

In the moviejukebox.properties file, enable and set the following parameters:

appletrailers.resolution=1080p/720p/480p/640
appletrailers.download=false/true

The first parameter controls the quality of the trailer. If there is no trailer at that quality, the next quality is tried. The second parameter controls the linking (false) or downloading (true) of the trailers.

Trailers Naming

If you download your own trailers you must name them so that YAMJ can pick them up. Trailers must contain the word Trailer, case-insensitive, somewhere between square brackets Trailers will only show up in the new Trailers category. In order to avoid confusion with actual movies, they will not show up under any other genre, or in any alpha-listing.

Examples

See  issue 67 ,  issue 66 .

The.Matrix.avi
The.Matrix[Trailer 1].avi
The.Matrix[Unrated Trailer].avi

The output folder ( Jukebox ) from YAMJ contains .html files for the trailers such as: No Country For Old Men1?.html . Are these unnecessary files who's creation can be avoided?

These are needed so that you can play your trailers individually, if for example, you just have the trailer and not the movie

So If I generates 2 trailers like below Will YAMJ genetares 2 trailers when I navigate that video in PCH?

Matrix 1999.avi Matrix 1?.avi Matrix 2?.avi

It should do, although you should name it the same as the movie, like you do for artwork

Yes it worked. Just pay attention to use square bracket in order to spesify those videos are trailes, like below.

||The.Dark.Knight.2008.720p.BluRay?.x264-SiNNERS.mkv The.Dark.Knight.2008.720p.BluRay?.x264-SiNNERS1?.mov The.Dark.Knight.2008.720p.BluRay?.x264-SiNNERS2?.avi

Hi guys, I need help with this. I have the following:

> Network Share
> Movie Collection [Folder]
> Assassin's Creed Lineage (2009) 720p [Folder]
> Assassin's Creed Lineage (2009) 720p [Trailer 1].wmv [File]
> Assassin's Creed Lineage (2009) 720p.avi [File]
> Assassin's Creed Lineage (2009) 720p.nfo [File]

When I use Y2M (YAMJ) it correctly ignores the trailer but my Mede8er doesn't ignore it, it plays the trailer first whenever I select the movie. My questions are:

  • How do I get my Mede8er to offer the option to play the trailer or the movie?
  • Is my naming convention and folder structure correct?

I am using a MED500X2 Mede8er.

Thanks for your help.
