Upgraded to latest mod_pagespeed.  Running Apache2 on Debian Squeeze

Kept my previous pagespeed.conf

I too have noticed this problem, although in my case, it is only happening when 
someone accesses my site using HTTPS

I noticed this commented-out line in your pagespeed.conf:

  #ModPagespeedMapOriginDomain localhost *

Was that commented out before?  I think you might need that or something 
similar in order to enable mod_pagespeed to fetch HTTP resources from 
http://snakehead/ , unless the machine running apache is talking to a custom 
DNS server.

Another interesting option is ModPagespeedLoadFromFile.
