Comment by ibod...@gmail.com, Aug 23, 2008

Any chance of getting a BETA out? :)

Comment by project member steventr...@gmail.com, Aug 23, 2008

What released software is not still a beta? ;-)

It will be ready soon enough and available from Ste packaging.

Comment by grantmai...@gmail.com, Aug 24, 2008

WOW! I've been waiting forever to have mobile stacks again! Thank you! One question, do the icons still hang after you launch an application from the stack? from the video it looks extremely fast and responsive and the poof from OSX was pure genius! Apple literally couldn't have done a better job! It perfectly simulates stacks on OSX! thanks again for the great work!

Comment by Hal9Thou...@gmail.com, Aug 25, 2008

sooo.... when/where can i get this?

Comment by project member steventr...@gmail.com, Aug 28, 2008

@grantmaier687 You'll be happy to know that since I am now working as PART of the SpringBoard? application, Stack will not remain on top of other apps when they launch =) I worked hard to make that happen with the new system.

@Hal9Thousand? When it's done. From Cydia.

Comment by edouard....@gmail.com, Aug 30, 2008

and can you tell us when youre awazing work will be done??? :p No expected release date?

Comment by andrew.h...@gmail.com, Aug 30, 2008

I am excited to use this! The video looks amazing. Congrats on creating a worthy application...I see a lot of CRAP being made...its nice to see someone developing something actually useful:)

Comment by msos...@gmail.com, Sep 5, 2008

any news? any idea when you will be doing beta testing? are you going to open the beta testing to all?

Comment by imar...@gmail.com, Sep 6, 2008

I'm sure you're tired of people asking but is there any projected release date? I am really anxious for this app.

Comment by edouard....@gmail.com, Sep 7, 2008

take some valium imark34... after my post, no one ask for something different than the expected release date I asked... dont you read the comments before posting? Wait for the answer before asking 1000000 times the exact same thing...

Comment by wgm...@gmail.com, Sep 9, 2008

hey i saw stacks in isntaller on 1.1.4 and i didnt know it worked on 1.1.4?

Comment by i86on...@gmail.com, Sep 12, 2008

Anxiously waiting for this release.

Can I make a comment or sugestion for the new release.?

the "mobile stack" for 1.1.4 always had to be restarted manually on resprings and reboots. If possible having the app. always starting on reboot/respring would be great. Maybe even add a Boss prefs. toggle?

Thank you again for working on this App. and not letting it die. I'll be first inline to test a beta version as well as donate to the cause.

Comment by JakeRya...@gmail.com, Sep 15, 2008

any way that this will ever be official? i haven't jailbroken my ipod, but would really like this app.

Comment by imar...@gmail.com, Sep 16, 2008

@ edouard.olive - Learn to count, I posted once and I certainly wasn't asking you.

Comment by JakeRya...@gmail.com, Sep 16, 2008

if this is ".ipa" can you import it into iTunes?

Comment by illusion...@gmail.com, Sep 18, 2008

hey does it run on iphone 2.0

Comment by schwart...@gmail.com, Sep 20, 2008

any news would be great...

Thanks for working on this app though, one of my favorites. Cant wait for it to come to OS 2.

Comment by kingofth...@gmail.com, Sep 21, 2008

Will there be an option to rename each stack for example if I want a tab for Games I can put Games in the bottom? And give us at least a time frame like a date of expected release or how close it will be we wont get made if it does come out when you say it does ;)just give us hope lol

Comment by darkvamp...@gmail.com, Sep 23, 2008

Cannot Wait for this app. used it even with the problems on 1.1.3/.4. Id like to know same as above about mulitple stacks for Games, Utilities etc. that would be awesome.

Comment by edouard....@gmail.com, Sep 23, 2008

waouw... so much people saying they cant wait without anything more !!! great !!! when we'll have real issues we're gonna search for 5 years an answer ! great !

is there a way i can beta test it sinse i worked hard to get it to work on 1.1.3/1.1.4?

Thanks, Kevdanclay

Comment by palakisb...@gmail.com, Sep 28, 2008

Its OUT!!!

Comment by davi...@gmail.com, Sep 28, 2008

This looks excellent. I found one bug, or maybe it is two. Once you remove all of the apps from the stack, I was unable to put anything back on the stack. Why, because it disabled my ability to move any icons, no matter how long I pressed on it. It did have a cute set of clouds, that kept appearing and reappearing, but nothing could be put into the stack. Being able to have multiple stacks would be excellent, say one at each end of the dock. Also, I think the overlapping applications under the stack, is kinda tacky. How about putting an extra wide rounded off square aount the icon, so it looks like the home button. After all, you can build yourself an alternative home in the stack, or just keep it simple. Good job, just trying to make the program outrageously great, instead of just drop-dead excellent!

Davida@gmail.com

Comment by imar...@gmail.com, Sep 28, 2008

I installed it and it seems to work great. Well worth the wait.

Comment by scott...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

Wow! Excellent work. At first I was disappointed with how the app cripples the dock by only letting you have two other icons there.

However, I came up with a pretty simple, workable solution. If you install a blank webclip (as explained here: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/native-iphone-ipod-touch-app-launches/270031-blank-webclip-winterboard-summerboard-2-0-a.html), you can simply throw it on the dock and put three other icons in front of it. The blank one neatly slides behind the stack.

Again, great job. I know it's a little early to throw a feature request at you, but any plans to support multiple stacks?

Comment by marcemei...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

I love 2.0 !! One thing I would want in this version is the possibilty to use 1 icon instead of the "stacked icons". Just love the suprise on people's faces when my app store icon makes 5 other icons come out. :D

Comment by edouard....@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

Hi, as everyone I find this new version really cute :D But I have some request : - webclips can't be add to the stack... - bubbles doesn't work - you should add the settings in a tab in the settings app (as some apps does) - maybe shading the grid will be nicer :)

Keep up the good work !

Comment by pt.light...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

This looks and works great. I agree with marcemeijer on his request. It would be nice to have the ability to define 1 single icon, although the stacked icons are also a good idea but sometimes it looks weird. Also, I find that when I have 5 icons in the stack, I am unable to tap the topmost icon.

p.s. if possible, multiple stacks would be DA BOMB!

Thanks again and I do hope Apple consider your internship ;)

Comment by darkvamp...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

anyone else having the trouble that it freezes and puts device into some sort of safe mode when trying to drag apps out of stack

Comment by pt.light...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

No problems here, running firmware 2.1 on a jailbroken iPhone 2G. Also running latest Winterboard version.

Comment by stephan....@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

Hi, this apps is the best, it works like a charm. With the blank webclip the stack looks great. I first had the ipod icon behind it, but blank looks better.

My only request would be to add the settings to the settings menu as edouard.olive has suggested.

Thanks for the great app.

Comment by aldwinco...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

hi, thanks for this app, it certainly has come a long way since i firdt tried it a long time ago.

i only have one question, is there any way/plans to disable the stacks icon, and have it display one regular icon instead?

don't get me wrong, the cascading icons style is amazing, but it would also be nice to be able to have an option to display just one icon like all the other icons on the springboard.

Comment by adam.hd...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2008

Requests:

Ability to add and remove apps from the settings screen, as well as REORDER them from there. The wiggle-drag-to-add is great, especially as a demo since it's so cool, definitely keep it. but for "power users" this would really be appreciated since currently to reorder a stack you have to remove loads of icons and re-add them in the order you want, which is a pain, especially if you're using the stack as a launcher and have all 16 slots full. being able to add and remove apps from the settings page would be nice for those of us who use Poof or Categories, because otherwise icons have to be unhidden, added to the stack, then rehidden. This should be relatively easy to implement, since all it needs to be is a GUI for editing the com.steventroughtonsmith.stack.entries.plist which, if memory serves, was how stacks v1.0 worked anyway lol.

also, it might make more sense if the topmost app on a gridview stack's icon was was the one in the bottom right corner, instead of second from the top left.

Great project, though! One that will stay on my phone even if NO improvements are made.

PS: I second the request for the option of a "normal" icon, the current way kind of messes with the alignment and visual symmetry of the dock and homescreen in general. There's a reason Apple updated Leopard to allow folders to be displayed instead of stacks of documents-- people complained that it looked ugly, and yeah... it did. This is much nicer, but not ideal. choice would be nice :)

PPS: I actually named my blank webclip "Stack" which you can do by editing the Info.plist inside the folder linked to above, changing the "Title" string. I think it looks better that way-- would be nice if we didn't have to use this workaround. Obviously in a PERFECT world the stack could be wiggle-dragged to any spot on the dock like any regular icon, with it's own label. But idk if this is technically possible or not. I'd settle for the option of adding a customizable label (i.e. Games, Apps, IM, whatever) to a stack in settings, and allow Stack to have a place on a traditional four-icon dock without needing the webclip workaround (though five-icon support would be REALLY nice, hint hint!)

in summation, your implementation of accessing preferences is WAY too clever to only have two measly options on that screen. haha, I really think there ought to be more customizability, as outlined above.

as far as non-feature related support goes, does anyone else sometimes have a lot of trouble hitting the settings gear? I keep accidentally activating the webclip underneath when I try to.

Comment by project member steventr...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2008

@ darkvampiredruid sounds like you have a non-installed app icon in Stack, or one you have removed yourself before removing from Stack.

Will have more thorough support in a future update

Comment by adam.hd...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2008

An afterthought: much as I praised the ingenuity of your "settings" implementation, the stack might actually look nicer and "cleaner" (not to mention more Leopard-like) if when open the gear wasn't there, and preferences were changed via a an add-on to Preferences.app, i.e. every other third party app for iPhone. Would this be possible to implement for Cydia apps such as yours?

Comment by kyled...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2008

Hi.

I love Stacks. This is a great App. Though, I'd reccomend it be a active movable dock app. Therefore moves when icons are added in the dock. I miss having 5 icons, and I'd love it if Stacks would allow mee to do so.

Comment by lj.brow...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2008

Requests in next update:

1) Be able to set its location of home screen, like more further to the right for 5 icon docks.

2) Be able to rearrange the order by dragging, and deleting with the "x" button, all features from FW 1.1.3+.

3) Automatic hide option, example I move iPod.app into my Stack and it doesnt show up twice in my home screen, just in Stack.

4) WEBCLIPS!! Please at least add this.

5) The 5 icon at the very top of an open Stack takes a few attempts to finally launch/tap.

OVERALL GREAT APP!

Comment by mest...@gmail.com, Sep 30, 2008

Everything said above would make this app one of the best apps available! Until these things are implemented (IF they get implemented) I will probably stick with my 5 icon dock and live with the slower 'Categories' app (i really dont like how it has to load to another screen). Keep the good work coming. Very much appreciated!

Comment by ksph...@gmail.com, Oct 1, 2008

Great job on the app. The only thing that I feel like it needs a fix is the icon itself..a lot of people and myself don't like the stack icons look.. it would look better to just have a single icon ..or the ability to show your customize icon. Thanks for a cool app and keep up the good work

Comment by deva...@gmail.com, Oct 1, 2008

Suggestions/requests: Remove the "restack/config" button, have a seperate config icon on the springboard which allows us to do the following:

1) Custom reorder stack

2) Choose which one appears on top

3) Amount of time before it auto-restacks.

4) Allow us to move the stack around on the dock. ;>

5) Label the stack (the words appear below the stack like a regular App.

6) Show only 1 icon instead of 3 stacked on each other (of course clicking on that icon extends the stack).

Thanks for this great app! I'll always use it! Goes great with Callme!

Bugs 1) By the way, Intelliscreen crashes on respring every single time when using Stacks. The screen comes up asking if I want to enable/disable Intelliscreen and it works if I click enable. But takes a minute or two to respring everytime since it crashes everytime. Don't know if it's Stack or Intelliscreen causing the issue. But there's a conflict somewhere!

2) If you extend the stack, then do something else like open another App or even lock the screen, the stack will still be extended when you go back to the springboard. (This is why I thought of a timed auto-restack!)

Comment by AYapejian, Oct 3, 2008

What a great app. Gotta love it when someone comes out and makes something that works well, and probably should have been implemented by apple in the first place. I agree with almost all the comments above for feature requests, my biggest would be reordering of icons, auto poof icons put in dock, and webclips ... in that order. That being said, even if this app didn't get an update, I'd still use it, it's way more useful than 5 icon dock (although having both would be ideal).

Thanks again, appreciate the work.

Comment by AYapejian, Oct 3, 2008

Oh, quick question ... I believe you said you were planning on upgrading, any idea on a time frame ... rough ballpark would be fine (next couple months, 6 months, a year? ) ... Thanks

Comment by kyled...@gmail.com, Oct 6, 2008

Oh, one other thing. Add the Stacks into a PrefPane? so we don't need the little lugnut thing.

Comment by fadria...@gmail.com, Oct 21, 2008

1) Custom reorder stack

2) Choose which one appears on top

3) Label the stack (the words appear below the stack like a regular App.

4) Show only 1 icon instead of 3 stacked on each other (of course clicking on that icon extends the stack).

Any chance to have that implemented ... soon ? :) Thanks for this great application !

Comment by CRed...@gmail.com, Oct 23, 2008

I agree with fadrianoc, as I would like this to blend with my theme and I find having a clump of icons does not look so nice. Great work. Also, will it be possible to change stack's location? I'm playin with an android theme and would like stacks to be in the middle and have the little gray icon. Thanks for all your hard work, it looks so much better than the original! Keep it up!

Comment by n.dimens...@gmail.com, Oct 27, 2008

Would it be possible to have multiple stacks? One for each icon in the dock?

Comment by ShermanT...@gmail.com, Nov 5, 2008

Great application! I hope that you are able to eventually make it compatible with 5 icon docks. I currently have it installed this way using the 4 standard icons plus the blank app icon for the stack to hover over.

I agree that moving the settings to the control panel would be great - this would also allow for an additional usable icon within the stack! (perhaps closing the stack could be changed to a held or double tap)

Thanks again - this is a great beginning and has the potential for great additional functionality to the iPhone.

Comment by AYapejian, Nov 6, 2008

I have a problem ... some icons in stacks is just blank white squares, I'm guessing these are from apps that were removed without first being removed from stacks ... I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling but the icons persist. How can I remove all icons in stacks and start from scratch?

Comment by AYapejian, Nov 6, 2008

NM ... Got is, just moved /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.steventroughtonsmith.stack.entries.plist to another dir for backup ... respringing recreated this file which is just XML that points to all the apps.

Still a great application ... just needs a little User Experience work ... keep up the great work

Comment by nirav...@gmail.com, Nov 7, 2008

okay where do i get the blank app. I mean do i just add it to /applications? Is it possible to move a blank.app?

Comment by adam.hd...@gmail.com, Nov 23, 2008

Any word on updates? Please? A schedule, and projected changes?

Comment by AYapejian, Dec 12, 2008

Is this still being actively developed? If not it would be great if it was open sourced, I have several great ideas that could be implemented.

Comment by jelsasse...@gmail.com, Jan 3, 2009

just a question... why isn't this open source? wouldn't it be a lot better if others could contribute to this?

Comment by bonech...@gmail.com, Jan 3, 2009

Here's a random feature that you could probably include; Having the amount of curvature of the stack interact with the accelerator in the iPhone

Comment by AYapejian, Jan 6, 2009

Great to see you've released another version ... thanks for the good work. The feature I'm looking forward to the most is either being able to arrange icons within the stack (curved or full stack) and also automatic hiding of icons when added to the stack. I know it's been stated that hiding the icons is a dangerous deal, but that would be such a professional looking feature.

Any chance to have this released as open source? I bet the community has a ton of good ideas for it, myself included :o)

In any case, thanks again for the good work!

Comment by maximili...@gmail.com, Jan 13, 2009

hey... Stacks is really a nice app, but where can I find the options to set its position?

Comment by CQN...@gmail.com, Jan 13, 2009

Yes I agree nice app, but like the other post above me I cant find the options. I looked in the settings app but still cant find it.

Suggestions?

Comment by irjenk...@gmail.com, Jan 13, 2009

Same here...I cant find the settings for version 2.1

Comment by Ahorow...@gmail.com, Jan 13, 2009

been using stack for a long time great program. i downloaded the update today and instead of stacking in the right corner its stacking in the middle. please come up with a fix for this. i use my stack everyday!! thank you

Comment by justin520@gmail.com, Jan 13, 2009

@All - U need to turn off Supreme Preferences in Winterboard before Stack will show up in Settings...disable Supreme and Stack will be avail.

@Ahorowytz - u have an option now for Stack in the Center or Right corner of the dock. You need to go into Stack in Settings and configure...Read The Release Notes!!!!

@justin520 thanks for clearing that up.

Did you tested your stuff with the "lock screen" mode? I have changed Stack configuration to

Always show in grid -> off Use curved stack -> off

and after the restart I can't to login because the lock screen reinitialize again and again until the iphone reboots. The keypad is disabled.

Any sugestions?

Fabulous and extremely useful program!! Nice Job. Thanks for the hard work! I vote with AYapejian - Any chance you could allow us to arrange the icons within the matrix display? I use it for my one-touch phone book and like to keep them in a specific order. BTW - it works beautifully with the 5 icon dock and a blank icon behind the Stack....

Comment by betov...@gmail.com, Jan 17, 2009

I think there is an issue regarding extended preferences from winterboard. I couldnt see the stack settings in the settings app, so i deactivated the extended preferences and now i see it. Just thought i let you know.

Comment by i.bum...@gmail.com, Jan 17, 2009

Hi ALL!

Anybody can help me, how can i use the stack in iPhone 3G OS2.2? Thx!

Comment by goulet.am@gmail.com, Jan 19, 2009

Wow, nice feature & should have been included in stock firmware -- only thing still bugging me, though it has been mentionned a million times; doesn't work with 5 icon dock!! Oh well, beats 5 icons anyhow... nice work & keep up the updates, great app & still has potential to be even better.

Comment by JMTorre...@gmail.com, Jan 26, 2009

Thanks for the hard work on this app. I have been using Stack with Categories for a while however I got tired of waiting for Categories to load all the time. I would love to use Stack with SpringJumps? shortcuts but when I try to run one from Stack it just does a zoom animation as if loading an app and just returns to the same page on SpringBoard?. I'm a programmer by trade but I'm not familiar with Objective-C or iPhone programming in general. However, I'd be willing to try to help if I was pointed in the right direction.

Comment by JMTorre...@gmail.com, Jan 27, 2009

It seems that the problem with SpringJumps? and Stack is that SpringJump? is a MobileSubstrate? plugin and relies on HOOK(SBIconController, clickedIcon$, void, SBIcon icon) with dummy app packages. Is there a way to go through that hook from Stack? I see that you're using launchApplicationWithIdentifier but, as it's undocumented, I don't know exactly what it does. As I said, I'm willing to help, but I'm not sure what direction to take from here.

Comment by calebkde...@gmail.com, Jan 28, 2009

Comment by andrewja...@gmail.com, Feb 2, 2009

just thought I'd let you know, that Stacks preferences don't show in Settings if you have Supreme Preferences or Extended Settings installed. Is there any work around for this? I think it's better to have the settings for stacks in the app.

Comment by ook...@gmail.com, Feb 2, 2009

The new version just doesn't work, ipod crashes and then goes into safe mode, hope a fix is coming soon.

Comment by akashash...@gmail.com, Feb 5, 2009

can you add the support for the blanks icons ? I would like to put 2 blanks icons in stack to just show the third in the dock thx

Comment by itwaslu...@gmail.com, Feb 7, 2009

My thoughts on what should be in a future release:

First off... thank you for such an awesome app. Its not perfect and I cannot fluently use it yet, but the idea is there. Once updated I will use Stacks over SpringJump?? or Categories any day. Now onto my recommendations:

- Allow more than one stack! I do not have a Mac, but I can tell you, stacks are awesome because its a fast way to categorize files, or in this case apps. With only one stack, it almost defeats the purpose.

- Add a "Folder" icon overlay. Really it looks like a bunch of stacked apps, and its cool, but it doesn't has the same folder-feel a Mac does.

- Allow custom icons... Categories is popular for me, because it allows me to make the link to my "Games" and "Productivity" folders were discrete, as opposed to just seeing one application with what looks like more apps

- Allow custom Text: Like I said before, if its my games folder, I don't want it to say one specific game, or in the case of a shorten game name "BIA" does not look very good at all.

- Be more flexible with positions: I like my dock on the bottom, I always keep my 5 icons down there: Text, Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod. And I do not want my stack anywhere near those. The top left, top left-middle, top right-middle, and top right would be popular places for me and others I'm sure.

- Fix "Bug" where you cannot move the icon in that position. Once I installed stacks, it went directly over my Mail app, and even when the icons are all wobbly, it still won't let me move the icon... maybe there is a way to temporary disable it to change the base app? Or not even have a base app, let alone a base icon and text so that you can put apps into that...

- Allow easier "exit" of stack: When you have more than 5 icons it moves to the large gray box, and if the app you thought was there is not, it would be much easier to just tap the extra gray space to exit as opposed to re-clicking the stack.

PLEASE, consider any of these recommendations... I would even buy this app if you made it as good as it could be!

Comment by d.sanch...@gmail.com, Feb 9, 2009

I agree with everything above. Especially multiple stacks that can be moved anywhere.

Comment by dwongee@gmail.com, Feb 12, 2009

is it possible to get an option to "lock" the stack so items cannot be deleted. seems like sometimes my phone will lag and i'll tap on an icon in the stack and it will delete... it's a pain to have to un-poof the app then drag it back to the stack then re-poof the app

Comment by dash...@gmail.com, Feb 12, 2009

I've been getting lots of requests to extend my ReflectiveDock? mobile substract extension to support Stack. Any interest in working with me to get it working?

Comment by arde...@gmail.com, Feb 13, 2009

I also agree with everything itwasluck3 has said. Great feedback!

Need multiple (movable if possible) stacks; need to allow the stacks to be at the top; need "folders" as the base of the stacks.

In many ways, developers are reinventing things done on the Palm a decade ago. There were some very full-featured and slick launchers with all sorts of features not yet available on the iPhone.

How about something that combines the best of Categories, Stack, Dock, and QuickGold??

Or ... anybody up for creating a simple launcher that just lists all your apps in a columnar format, sortable by such columns as name, date, size, and description (user-entered)?

Also: Is there ANY launcher out there that can handle an iPhone (or iPod touch) that has over 1000 apps installed? On my device with just 150 or so apps, both AppFlow? and Launcher crash.

Is it possible to reorder apps on the stack otherwise than just removing them from the stack and pulling them back on in the different order. I use Categories and getting apps on/off SB is cumbersome. Is there a list file somewhere in filesystem that can be edited to accomplish this ? Maybe this can be an idea for future development or to have reorder pull list like in Categories.

Great app, I really love it. Despite the other suggestions that are already made here, I'd find it really cool if the screen (the other icons in the background) would be dimmed a little as long as the stack is expanded. This would highlight the stack icons a little more. Like the background effect, that dims the background when a message pops up. But that's not necessary I love the app anyway. ;)

thank you so much for such an awesome little app.

i found a little bug that can help improve it.

-when the stack is open in grid view and positioned bottom/right and the phone receives a call, upon ending the call the stack is still open on the home screen but it is shifted off the screen to the right by two icons so you can't collapse the stack. you must tap an app in the stack to launch it and then the stack collapses and is normal after that.

I'd just like to say what a great app - this really adds a new dimension to the iPhone and it's like having the ability to add 16 apps to your dock! One quick question though - is there any way that I can manually change the colour of the background when viewing apps in a grid?

i'd like your app very... hope you dot't clos your work on it... go in the cydia store there are so many people they will buy it for a fair price, better then deleting it for ever...

but now to my question, why i can oly add 9 apps on it it must have 16 ya know... i've reinstall it ond comleatly remove it and install it new but it will no longer go up to 16 like it do bevor... is the a file that i can modyfie to add manual apps in it? thx

I can't get this to work. Cydia says the source is invalid and installing via SSH puts Stack Settings on the spring board but it closes immediately after.

If anyone can email me a guide as to how to install this I'd appreciate it.

Comment by ranjaach...@gmail.com, Apr 8, 2009

hmm, stack is only positioned in the centre in front of the other icons in the dock. Changing to bottom right or grid doesn't work for me. I'm running 2.2.1 (baseband 02.30.03).

Comment by black...@gmail.com, May 19, 2009

do you have any documentation on how to theme the stack background or the icon it displays through winterboard?

Seems to crash my iphone 3G fw 3.0. Sends phone into safe mode. had to manually remove program via ssh to unfreeze phone.

Comment by ericw...@gmail.com, Jun 29, 2009

I accidentally emptied the stack, now I can't add anything back. Uninstalling then reinstalling had no effect. What can I do??

Comment by aaronbl...@gmail.com, Jun 30, 2009

Ditto to the comment by @ericwass.

The screenshots show the stack taking up space in the dock, which would be just fine, even preferable, to the strange behavior of an invisible stack (when empty) that there is no identifiable way to add things to it.

A real wiki with instructions may be of use (if I am just thick and can't figure it out). Thank you for developing this piece of software, I hope to be able to use it soon.

Oh, FWIW: I'm on 3.0, on a 3G phone.

Comment by SevenL...@gmail.com, Jul 9, 2009

I too accidentally emptied the stack and then couldn't add any items back into it. I fixed it by deleting /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.steventroughtonsmith.stack.entries.plist and respringing.

Comment by vanda...@gmail.com, Jul 14, 2009

@SevenLowe? still pretty new to the jailbreaking world. How would I go about deleting that file?

Comment by vanda...@gmail.com, Jul 14, 2009

So I used cyberduck to ssh in and delete that file and it re-added the default apps but I still can't add new apps to the stack.... Any help?

Comment by jpon...@gmail.com, Jul 16, 2009

working fine on my 3gs ;o)

Comment by jpon...@gmail.com, Jul 16, 2009

Comment by jpon...@gmail.com, Jul 16, 2009

Comment by Darius.E...@gmail.com, Aug 14, 2009

I would be glad, if there would be a way to compatiblity with five icon dock

Comment by kai...@gmail.com, Aug 27, 2009

Having the same problems with adding new apps to the stack. Also, crashed Mobile Substrate whenever launching apps. iPhone 3Gs/3.0.1

Comment by fre...@gmail.com, Sep 11, 2009

Ok. Reading these last part might explain why it isnt working for me regarding the five icon dock:(.. shame.. looked good...

Comment by Ethanm...@gmail.com, Sep 29, 2009

Yep.... can't add apps to this program no matter what I try. Seems like it broke in 3.0. Shame the author isn't actively working on it anymore. Kinda obnoxious actually, he doesn't even release the source code to the community.

So, it doesn't work in my iPod 2G firmware 3.0. Gonna uninstall...

Comment by remy.a.b...@gmail.com, Jan 2, 2010

Hi there, thanks for this awesome app! Seriously looking forward to v3!!

I'm having a problem with 2.1 though... I stupidly deleted all the icons from the stack when I installed, and now I can't add any new icons to it!? I've tried removing, rebooting, then re-installing to no avail... It still seems to remember that I had no icons!

Is there a config file I can edit? I reeeeeeally want to get this working and can't wait for v3 to come out, so ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, Rémy
