It would be great if one could stop/start the podcast pressing the headphone button.

I agree it'd be nice. 
If anyone has a tip on howto implement this or wants to contribute a patch that'd be
mighty!

yeah, were definitely looking forward to getting a documented sdk. If we had a known interface or api for 
that headphone button thing  integrating it with mc should be pretty straightforward.
