Mobilecast allows you to download and listen to podcasts via wifi or edge on the iPhone.

Search

We are adding a search capability to simplify the addition of new feeds.

This will involve mobilecast client applications submitting usage information to a web service. Please let us know what you think about this idea over at this issue.

Yet another good reason to check out 2.2.4 - we recently added the ability to stream podcasts without downloading them ahead of time.

Icons Part II

Thanks to all those that have submitted icons, we certainly apprecaite your efforts. We'd love your help again though, as its been suggested that we could improve our status icons - you know those blue, green, white, red & yellow dots that indicate if a podcast is new, downloaded, played, not available etc. Not to mention our rather aweful table-play icon. We could use some icons that are a little prettier, more intuitive & obvious about what they are indicating.

So we've created another issue where you can attach your finest artwork.

Lets make 2.2.4 the prettiest release of mobilecast yet!

You can grab the latest (2.2.4) development snapshot binaries from the downloads page.

The latest stable release is MobileCast 2.2.3 its now available. Please give it a whirl & let us know what you think of the changes over on this thread in the mobile cast google group.

Howto install Mobilecast from this site

Update - You can now install mobilecast 2.2.4 snapshots via Installer.App. Details are available here.

To download & manually install files from this site you will need to extract the zip file before copying its contents over to your phone with a command like the following:

scp -r MobileCast.app root@192.168.1.100:/Applications/

You will want to replace 192.168.1.100 with your phones IP address.

If your on 1.1.3 you might want to check our notes about using ssh after upgrading to 1.1.3.
