Miranda Version : 0.7.x-0.9.x Unicode Build : Yes Test Build # (if applicable) : Plugin Version # (if applicable) :
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Add new a user with a mandatory authorization or wait for a message from a such user.
- Execute the "Add to server list" menu item.
- Execute the "Add permanently in the contact list" menu item, checking both "Request authorization" and "Add to server's list" options.
What is the expected result?
Authorization should be completed after that.
What happens instead?
In most cases, authorization is not completed. A new user is not visible as online user. The "Request authorization" item does not appear in the contact's menu.
Only if I open Database Editor, open the new contact settings, open the "ICQ" branch and create the "Auth" BYTE value set to 1, the "Request authorization" item appears in the contact's menu. If I then request authorization (one time), I immediately receive the "You are authorized" notification and the user appears in the online user list.
The problem persists at least within two years. I wrote about it in the forum but there was no reply.

Posted on Sep 20, 2010 by Swift OxYes, looks very similar. Sorry, I made several issue searches before I posted a new issue but haven't found a proper one. Issue 5 starts differently and becomes close to mine near the end.
The distinctive feature of this situation is that after issuing first authorization requests (by checking the "Request authorization" in the "Add permanently to list" form and by selecting the "Request authorization" item in the context menu), there is no authorization approval message. But after creating the "Auth" value and selecting "Request authorization" menu item again, authorization approval message appears in seconds and contact goes online immediately.

Posted on Oct 21, 2010 by Happy Oxhere're my 2 cents: 1. I receive an auth request from a new friend who jsut added me to his/her contact list 2. In the Auth pop-up dialog I click the "+" button to add the user to my list and request the auth from him/her. 3. Afterwards I finally click "Authorise" button in the Auth pop-up dialog to authorise the new contact in my list.
Outcome: the user is still not authorised in this case and I have to open contact's menu and select the "Grant Authorisation" option. And it's definitely a very old issue...

Well not exactly if this issue can be solved with a DB edit.
