issue 162 (twitter fails to connect, but will not completely disconnect...) commented on by Drahbor   -   This is a severe error! The plugin attempts to login every 1 or 2 seconds when authentication fails. It will not wait for the user input from Pidgin popup "retry" but will retry by itself until the process is killed. Additionally, it will lock you out from your Twitter account for some time because of too many false login attempts.

issue 18 (Integrate URL shortening services) commented on by ismael.olea   -   From some time to now some of my twits are not updated -maybe (direct|silent)ly dropped by twitter.com- without trying to short the URI's. I need to do by hand. This suggest to me twitter delegates the shortening work to the client app. I suggest mb-purple to short itself maybe using a randomly/round-robin picked shortening service. And maybe letting the user to choose her favorite service through the advance properties menu.

issue 167 (Add a "translate" button) reported by mark.cunningham   -   It would be rather cool to have a "translate" link beside a tweet, that would open up a webpage, say on google translate, that translates the text to the preferred language. Google already has a "bookmarklet" in the browser that you can select some portion of text on a webpage and convert it to your preferred language. I'd imagine generating a link of the tweet to do the same shouldn't be very hard to do.

issue 165 (Support for Twitter's new retweet functionality) reported by mark.cunningham   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Someone uses the new retweet function from the web to retweet What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The retweet does not appear in the Pidgin conversation window, though it can be seen in the timeline on the webpage. Would expect the retweet to appear. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? WindowsXP and microblog 2.0.4 Please provide any additional information below. I'm not a fan of this new retweet feature, but I guess it should be possible to use it from Pidgin to retweet a message. Potentially it should be customisable, use the new retweet feature (which doesn't allow you to modify it) or use the manual 'RT' version.

Just a couple of things: 1) Sugree's repo doesn't yet seem to have 0.2.4 on it, nor does it have a section for Karmic. 2) Perhaps you should include details of Ikuya's PPA on http://code.google.com/p/ microblog-purple/ or similar. I love microblog-purple. I really appreciate your work on it! :-)

issue 162 (twitter fails to connect, but will not completely disconnect...) reported by ak.hepcat   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. enable twitter account 2. as soon as 'authentication error' message pops up, disable twitter account What is the expected output? What do you see instead? It is expected that the mbpurple plugin completely disconnect and not attempt further logins. However, there appears to be a bug and the account does not disable itself, instead causing a continuous authentication loop and the following error in the debug log: (16:17:36) g_log: purple_account_disconnect: assertion `!purple_account_is_disconnected(account)' failed This error will spawn continuously when pidgin is changed to the 'offline' state, until the process is killed. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? mbpurple 0.2.4, pidgin 2.6.3 Please provide any additional information below. issue 161 (Showing faces (profile pictures)) reported by hedayaty   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Use the plugin 2. people twit 3. Their faces(profile pictures) are not shown What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I kind of expect that user's faces appear besides their twits What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Latest (this is not a bug, it is a feature request) Please provide any additional information below. In twitter most people have some ID which does not ring a bell, but their profile photos are kind of important. I know that probably a patch is also needed for pidgin itself, but this can be a very good and useful feature that makes this plug-in competitive with other twitter applications.
