| Issue 37: | "The item you've requested is no longer available." | |

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Delete BoxOffice 2. Go to App Store, try to get 3. view error: "The item you've requested is no longer available." What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Even viewing the BoxOffice "page" at the App Store produces the above message, any further action is forestalled. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I'm afraid I deleted it, so I cannot check the version. The precipitating event was an announced update on 7/31. The update did not process, so I deleted the old one and tried redownloading it. Please provide any additional information below. Thanks for a great App, hope to use it again, when this gets sorted. |

Box Office is one of the best apps available, or at least it was...when it was, you know, available. I inadvertantly deleted it while "syncing" my apps (no idea how that happened). Any idea when it'll be back? It was truly a magnificent piece of work. |

I had problems loading it and decided to delete it and reinstall it again. Unfortunately I haven't been able to search for it anywhere. I miss it! Please please please.. I would love to have it back. |

I'm looking into seeing why BoxOffice was pulled from the appstore. |

Isn't open source and your GNU licensing a violation of Apple's SDK...? That's my bet on why you were yanked from iTunes. |

By that token, shouldn't WeDict and Wordpress be pulled? I'd like to see Apple pull Wordpress out and watch the public backlash. |

@jasonjei - is the source code for WeDict and/or WordPress' iPhone versions publicly available and published under GPL or other open licenses? If not, no, they wouldn't be banned by Apple. If yes, and my belief that this is the issue for some of the apps disappearing is true, then Apple will eventually ban them if they don't change their policy. It's all about the NDA and SDK licensing. I'm pretty sure the SDK licensing and App Store agreement forbid making the program or code available anywhere else. App developers aren't even allowed to talk amongst themselves about how to optimize their code according to many news sources. If they can't talk about it, then surely having it on a site like Google or Sourceforge available for anyone to download and contribute to the project is an issue for Apple. I'm just speculating, I have no real knowledge of why Apple is killing some seemingly innocuous apps. |

This bug report is not the appropriate place for this discussion. If you want to discuss the GPL, or make hypothetical guesses as to why Apple pulled the app, please do so elsewhere. Thanks very much. I'm not going to delete any comments made before now. But i will delete any that follow that offtopic. |
