Mephisto stands for MEshing People, Hardware and Software TOgether. Mephisto supports collaborative linking of data about software, hardware and people, with the goal to:
- track bugs more efficiently across various bug trackers,
- solve technical issues collectively,
- get accurate information on hardware compatibilities,
- monitor engineering process and tasks,
- more generally to interlink the heterogenous information systems dealing with software, hardware and people, using semantic Web technologies.
Mephisto consists of:
- A set of ontologies used for modelling the business domain of software engineering,
- A set of data extractors exposing existing data as RDF,
- A Web annotator and browser for adding metadata to online discussions, bugs, hardware components, people, documentation etc.,
- A KDE annotator and browser,
- An RDF backend for storing the annotations.
