Something for the future possibly...

I would really like to see an option to run MCM as a service. I currently host
all of my applications on a central server (Most of which have web interfaces).
Running MCM as a service would be a step forward, even without a GUI.

The ultimate option would be a web interface to manage MCM remotely. I for one
would pay good money for such an option!

Mark

A web frontend for MCM would be great.
Since I am currently not skilled enough to create this myself it would be of
great help if MCM ccould supply a web frontend for all the stored movies
inclusing fanart metadata and covers.

just came here to say the one thing that MCM really needs to complete it is a
web ui. currently i still have to interrupt TV viewing on my HTPC to add new TV
series, confirm movies and so on.

Not sure if this will be a new request - it would be great if an API could be
linked in with this for development on an Android/Iphone app :)

This would be fantastic for a WHS or other media server. No need to keep a user
logged into a headless machine.

i attempted to start MCM as a service running WHS 2011 and using a program
called FireDaemon Pro (service installer), it started and was running but when
i opened task manager to have a look there were about 6 individual processes
running all named the same thing, all using roughly 64mb of memory, and after a
few more minutes i looked again and there was twice that number. i have the
download parser running every 3 minutes and every time the log displayed a
message it would appear on my taskbar of the WHS 2011 desktop as the program is
"trying to send a message", when viewing the message i could see the download
parser had run a few times since the process has started (but there was nothing
in the folder to parse).
long story short it runs as a service (although fetching and other features i
haven't tested, server was about to choke from the multiplying processes) but
if it keeps attempting to send the desktop a message and multiplying itself it
will never be a viable option.
my two cents

add new shows for sorting, add specific movie/tv show to download, get
notifications when either of those misses, and being able to confirm the
misses....those options alone on a mobile device in any form (app/web/rss/ect)
would make this software BOSS! other issues can be handled with remote desktop
when necessary... those are the vital "on the go" features....those options
need to be spouse/kid friendly and a simple mobile platform would make that
possible...(xbmc plugin would be nice too, lol)

I saw some early footage of it being developed. He's thinking about it ;-) and
yes I too would be willing to pay a lot more for such a feature. Everything
else is over the web. Trakt.tv and downloading, nab.su and downloading etc etc
:-D

I would like to add my wish for this feature also. Given it gets requested
regularly and has been asked for since 2010 i hope Pete has this on the radar
for release this year :-)

I agree, MCM is the only application I use that is not web-accessible. I use a
combination of SabNZBD, Sickbeard, Couchpotato, Multiple XBMC instances,
Maraschino, uTorrent, and MCM. Each performs specific functions, and all but
MCM are available from the web for remote managment. I run a PC specifically
for handling downloads and all related functions such as unrar, par,
organization, etc. which is headless. Access to more than just basic functions
would be wonderful! I've been purchasing licenses to MCM for a few years
without seeing any truly new feature, Development seems to focus on existing
issues, and updates are slow to be released.
