(Since starting this thread, I have upgraded to IDEA 8.0.1)

- I think what you are looking for is under "File / New Maven Project" link. But it
doesn't work either in v8.0.

2. Restarted IDEA
3. Looked for a menu item, tool window, context menu ...

EXPECTED: A menu item, or tool window, belonging to MavenProjectHelper
ACTUAL: Cannot find MavenProjectHelper anywhere! MavenProjectHelper is
listed under 'installed plugins'.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Plugin version 1.1, IDEA version 7.04, Mac OS X 10.5
