I was sitting one day, playing Marathon (one of Halo Makers, Bungie Studios, first games.)And i recently found out that there was Doom for the iPhone and IPT. (http://code.google.com/p/iphonedoom/) So, since, basically, since they are both 2.5D shooters, i was wondering if i could start Porting Marathon to the Ipod Touch. Anyways, i started asking around the iPod Touch Fans Forums about if there was some way i could do this. DMGMANTIS - Thats Me. "Well, we do have a Source for Aleph One, and before i go ahead and start to port it, i don't want to waste porting something that can't be possible. The iPT and iP meet and exceed the System Req's. Surely if the iPT and iP can play Doom or another 2.5D shooter, then surely Marathon. Im just afraid if i go ahead and port it, it might be really unplayable (since the iPT and iP do not a have a GPU.)

Would Marathon be Possible?"

So, i will start porting Marathon and Marathon Durandal to the iPod Touch. Check on this Google Code page to see project updates and more.

Note: This will not support Multiplayer along the first set of releases: Im still thinking about implementing Multiplayer, but, it probably will not be possible.

More Info on Marathon (excerpt from Wikipedia) "Marathon is a first-person shooter and is always seen through the eyes of the player character. It takes place over six chapters and twenty-seven levels. The majority of the levels take place aboard the UESC Marathon, some are located on the alien mothership. Unlike many first-person shooters at the time which merely required the player to locate an exit to complete each level, most Marathon levels involve the player executing objective-based missions in order to advance. These missions may involve exterminating all of the hostile forces in the area, hitting a repair switch, locating an item, exploring the area and others. A level may have one, more than one or no mission. Most of them are tied into the game's plot. The story of the game is told primarily through 'terminals' which contain messages and information. All but six levels end with these."
