This version (0.3) works okay in Sun Virtual Box 3.0.

Tomorrow I will try it on Netbooks (Samsung NC10 and Advent 4213).

Version 0.2 does not work on any of the above for me.

Will a bootable USB stick created with Unetbootin from 0.3 work? So far, no version of Live-Android has managed to go beyond the splash screen on my eee 900 (which is very close to the 700 series as far as hardware goes)

Comment by cyclone8...@gmail.com, Aug 21, 2009

if you don't have HJSplit just use copy /b in windows command prompt..

copy /b liveandroidv0.3.iso.001+liveandroidv0.3.iso.002 liveandroidv0.3.iso

Comment by bongba...@gmail.com, Aug 21, 2009

On Aspire One A150. Is it work?

Comment by nickb1...@gmail.com, Aug 21, 2009

It works, but I don't have sound using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala alpha 4 and VirtualBox? 3.0.4. Still no ACPI support, so shutdown/reboot on PC is impossible atm.

But progress is made, booting now works really good! Just needs GRUB and an Ubuntu-like installer with Gparted and Ext4 support.

Comment by sureshg.g, Aug 23, 2009

I tried Android 0.2 on ASPIRE 5735Z with VirtualBox?, it works Now with Android 0.3 I have a problem with the checksums. It return a code :58f7a1ee4385db04495b794484f97a29. The file = 101 M But I download the source with links above When I try to run 0.3 I have a black screen on my VirtualBox? Any idea !!!!

Comment by caavc...@gmail.com, Oct 5, 2009

yopeck79: You may try android-x86, much better compatibility. See http://www.android-x86.org or https://sites.google.com/a/android-x86.org/web/home

Comment by williamb...@gmail.com, Oct 15, 2009

I don't know about the creator's feelings on this but for those wanting ANDROID MARKET AND GOOGLE APPS they probably won't and shouldn't be added to the live-android cd. Although android the os is opensource and free to do with what we please market and many google apps aren't. Sucks but tis the case. One of the great rom cooks @ xda just got served a C/D for this exact thing, adding android market(be it the new 1.6 market) to his roms. Just a heads up. We'll probably have to add such apps ourselves somehow as to keep these great devs for catching and poo from google's legal department.

Btw, great job guys. Had the older version working on my pavillion for a minute, will have to try this updated version. Thanks, keep up the good work :)

Comment by vinayka...@gmail.com, Oct 22, 2009

Can i install the liveandroid 0.3 directly on hard drive? also, i want to try out some applications is it possible?

Comment by James...@gmail.com, Oct 25, 2009

Works well on a Fujitsu Siemens S7110 laptop. But no network / Wifi driver (I guess) so no connectivity which was a shame. Other than that it looks great, very smooth and responsive. Thanks, James

Comment by caavc...@gmail.com, Nov 22, 2009

No updates or news since four months ago. I think this project is dead. If you are looking for running Android on x86, Please try Android-x86 1.6, http://www.android-x86.org/. This is a real open source project and very activity.

Comment by xes...@gmail.com, Nov 22, 2009

Totally agree with caavchen. Android-x86 is much better.

Comment by axeman...@gmail.com, Apr 27, 2010

Comment by did...@gmail.com, Jul 4, 2010

Love it, took a while to find one of my laptops it worked on but it once I decided that my Acer Aspire One A0A-150 was the one it was most likely to work on I tried it and it did on the lowest resolution, so if anyone with same netbook is wondering weather or not to try it, but have read the comments saying it won't boot, don't worry works on this fine, apart from the slow boot time I got because my slow external disc drive, once I got it up and running it was great, would like Wi-Fi support, when I try to turn it on its says Unable which is majorly annoying, but I understand its only just started to be developed. The Wi-Fi my Netbook is a Atheros AR5BXB63, would gratefully appreciate it if you would add support for it. Oh and like everyone else would like it if you would put the Android Market on too. So not much I'm asking for...

Comment by wolyspr...@gmail.com, Sep 1, 2010

Can't find the android version which you based on in release note. 1.6, 2.0,2.1 or 2.2? And it seems nobody update liveandroid after 0.3 released.

Comment by fishfish...@gmail.com, Sep 17, 2010

Comment by kavind...@gmail.com, Sep 27, 2010

Why this LiveAndroid? V0.3 doesn't work on Toshiba Satellites???? Trying this was waste of my time and money. Next time please state on what computers LiveAndroid? works. Thanks! :(

Comment by NickMBr...@gmail.com, Oct 25, 2010

needs to allow the installation of .apk files

Comment by Ker...@gmail.com, Dec 17, 2010

Wow, okay - First of all, great work team! Everyone, this is version 0.3. It does not support all the features you want, its a fact because its not complete.

@fishfishstinks - its opensource, so, its dead if no one is working on it. But its not dead as in no-one 'can' work on it.

@wolyspring - pretty sure this is based on 1.6 and no higher.

@others - looking for updates? See what caavchen, said above. When you see x86 - think 'Regular home 32bit pc'.

@everyone - There is no list of known working laptops, because it hasn't been tested on very many at all. And if the test laptops are listed, its such a small group you have a 99% chance of not having one of those test laptops. And the test laptops probably had some quirky problems on their own. Try the x86 version from above.

Cheers. Thanks for the port though guys, :D
