Lassie Studio is an adventure game platform built with Adobe Flash. The studio consists of a game editor tool for quick and easy definition of environments and interactions, and a game player application to run a constructed game.

Aside from powering classic-style graphical adventure games (like the Monkey Island series or Day of the Tentacle), Lassie studio also stands as a powerful engine for scripted animations. Lassie makes it easy to create grids and animate sprites around them, also to add dialogue with recorded voices and text subtitles.

Released here is Lassie Shepherd, the third generation of the Lassie engine built for Adobe Flash Player 10 using ActionScript3. For latest packaged build of the tool suite, checkout the "app" folder using an SVN client. Full AS3 source code is available for both the editor application and the game player (word of fair warning: the editor app was built rapidly and grew into a mess. The game player is significantly cleaner and more organized). This is the complete codebase behind Lassie Games' recent release, "What Makes You Tick: A Stitch in Time".

Keep the spirit of adventure gaming alive online! I hope Lassie can help you out.

PLEASE – I would ask that you include me, Greg MacWilliam of Lassie Games, in your primary production credits with the title "Engine Programming by...". Thanks!
