laserTraq

Introduction

When I saw the Laser-Tag Project from the great guys of GRL i liked their idea instantly. They used a Software made by Theodore Watson and Zachary Lieberman. I made a Linux Version using Gnome and Gstreamer. This is no port of Agent Watson's program.

What it is

laserTraq is a suite to use every X11-Application with one or more laser-pointers as input-device. For this a video-capture device, that is supported by gstreamer, is needed. By defining multiple sensors per video-source (or multiple sources), you can have more than one Input (e.g. two red lasers on different surfaces, red/green lasers on the same surface, etc.) You will be able to define the Pixel-Height/Width of your target and have the laser-pointer coordinates scaled accordingly. They can be output:

  • Wiki-Article about laser-graffities on bralug.de; Parts of my sources are used and cool stuff is done with it.
  • Apodio claims to be a "COMPLETE AUDIO / VIDEO SYSTEM ON A BOOTABLE CD UNDER GNU/LINUX". It contains laserTraq.
