"The Betrayer" is an RPG adventure written to run under the KQLives engine (see http://kqlives.sourceforge.net). KQthebetrayer is a stand-alone game and is completely separate from mainline KQlives. The engine and graphics are almost the same to KQlives.

The Story: In a land surrounded by the vastness of oceania there were three kingdoms, that of Akanthos, Diduma, and Krayiet. After a brutal war the king of Diduma was captured by the forces of Akanthos. The kingdom of Diduma was then placed under their rule. You are Corin, the son of the tailor of a conquered town Maldon of Diduma.

The Debian Package will not work with a Classic KQLives install. If you don't have Classic KQ installed then it doesnt matter. It should work. Though the Debian Package has showed some weird dependency problems.

If you run a make install on the source package it will overwrite an existing install of KQLives. If you just "make" it and not "make install" It will work fine in the selected directory. One note -KQtheBetrayer will not ruin save files for the original KQLives.

The Dependencies for the kqthebetrayer debian package are: libaldmb1, liballegro4.2, libc6 (>= 2.3.4-1), libdumb1, liblua40 (>= 4.0-13), libx11-6, libxext6, libxpm4, libxxf86vm1
