iOS 4 Khmer Keyboard & Fonts Package

This wiki is describing the package content, that will be provided on Cydia

As for the package in 3.0.x, the new package for iOS4 is going to replace the Czech by Khmer.

Preferences: The Preferences bundles is modified in order to show Khmer instead of Czech in your Setting apps.
You will be able to see "Khmer" in Settings if your iPhone language is English or French

Fonts: All the fonts are located in a separate folder name MyFonts.

ABC and Limon fonts are installed for legacy web viewing
PhoneKeysCaps.ttf is used for the font keyboards.
arialuni.ttf is the Unicode font with khmer glyphs used previously in 3.0 and the new engine from Danh Hong.
CGFontCache.plist is modified to declare the new fonts

NB: arialuni.ttf is the Unicode font. It as the same characteristic as before. I could have used exactly the same font as before for this new package. But due to copyright issue, I had to change the AAT engine of the font and use the one from Danh Hong.
If you modify the package for personal purpose. Be very careful with PhoneKeysCaps.ttf. This font is used for the keyboard, and keyboard only. And mandatory for the keyboard. I do not recommend you to change PhoneKeyCaps.ttf.

Keyboard: All the files xxxx.keyboard are defining the Khmer Keyboard.
Keyboard-cs.plist is defining mainly the long push key, and few other things.
InputModeProperties.plist is used in Preferences for the list of HW keyboard and SW keyboard. New in iOS4

This above describe what will be changed in your iPhone iOS4 for you to have Khmer Fonts and Keyboard on your iPhone
The new cydia repo address will come this week-end...

Hi, The iOS 4.0.1 and iOS 4.0 have been tested and working prior to upload on Cydia. I would suggest to reboot your iPhone and uninstall and try to re-install.

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

Sorry. When I say : uninstall and re-install, I mean the package, not mean the iOS. ;)

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

i did it through your source with cydia. i added ur source and it download the ios 4 package and it does everything automatically. and that is what happen.

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

But previously, last week or last month ... did you try to install manually files on your iPhone. Because it looks like a problem of right to access the file. This shouldn't happen.

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

so what do u suggest to install? How do i install it manually? thanks

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

no i didn't install anything. cos i just got this new iphone 4 jailbroken. now i still trying to install ur iOS 4.x keyboard package. but it seems not installed and it always shows up the message that " trying to overwrite ....." :(

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

Ok. I just uploaded a zip version of the package on this web site. You can try to install manually. Do you know how to copy files on iPhone thru SSH ?

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

no bro. please tell me how? cos i did download the zip file already but i got no idea how to copy it to my iphone. I'm using Mac.

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

Install OpenSSH and SBSetting on your iPhone. Make sure that your wifi and SSh are ON. On Mac, use CyberDuck? (Free apps). And put the files in the zip in your iPhone. Make sure to rename the file to be replaced in your iPhone before to copy from the zip to iPhone. This in order to backup the original files. For the Preferences.app, replace the files inside the bundle.

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

thanks bro. i will try it now. :)

Comment by kenjiyin...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

please provide me with step by step installation. now i have all those SSH and i can browse my iphone thru wifi. but i dun really know how to copy those zip file to my phone. There are 3 folders in the zip. which one should i copy and rename first? thanks a lot. :)

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

The zip file and the iPhone have the same architecture. Copy file by file. The order doesn't matter. DO NOT copy the full directory. Only if the directory do not exist. Example Myfonts. After completed. U can respring or reboot ur iphone

Comment by layl...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

works on my iphone 4 4.0 with manual installation. but the font is small in notes.

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

The font size is as before. I plan to put other fonts package from Danh Hong in cydia in the coming weeks.

Comment by layl...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

It's strange on my iphone then. In mail and other applications, the font size seems normal though a bit small, but in Notes application, khmer font and other fonts are too small to read.

Comment by project member fabkk2...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2010

layloth,

Could you please open a new issue in the issue tab. This will be easier to follow. Once you open the issue, please post a screenshot. (notes and mail). I do not understand the problem so far. As in my package their is only 1 font arialuni.ttf which is unicode. And this font contains only khmer glyphs. Meaning, why in your notes other fonts are small ? Please open a new issue

Thanks

Fab
