If you are responsible for managing Newsletter tasks of a small or medium sized company, this tool enables you to easily setup your users, addresses and newsletter content in an easy to use fashion.
KIT is a usable tool and I use it for my newsletter campaigns. Nevertheless, it is work very much in progress, needing several important new features as well as improvements to existing ones.
Key Features
Multiple Groups
Allows maintaining Real and Test recipients lists to which specific campaigns can be targeted. Test lists can be used to perform a trial run before sending out to the Real list of recipients
Wysiwyg HTML Editor
Writing formated content is a breeze using the built-in Wysiwyg editor.
Analytics
Allows you to track
- which users have either viewed your mesage
- which users clicked on links in your newsletter message
Personalized Greetings
KIT allows personalization of greetings such. For example, in a single campaign, you can expect to address different recipients as follows
- Dear Henry
- Dear Mr. Smith
- Jack Brown
- etc..
Unsubscribe
Recipients can unsubscribe to lists.
A standard landing page is provided, with automatic forwarding to and "exit_link" (which can be specified when configuring a campaign)
Contribute to KIT
Coders Wanted
KeepInTouch was originally written Perl/CGI for deployment on Apache2 servers. Now it is being adapted for mod_perl due to performance reasons.
We'd love to have coders who would like to contribute enhancements. See issues tab for contribution opportunities.
Testers Wanted
We need testers who can install KeepInTouch, use it for your own purposes and report back with goods, bads and uglies. In that sense, anybody who has setup a CGI script or written Perl code to run on Apache is in a fit shape to help as a KIT tester.
