jSocket Introduction

jSocket is library that allows you to access sockets in Javascript. It uses the XMLSocket functionality in Action Script for the actual connection. The library is designed to be Object Oriented and therefor it possible to have more then one socket on a page.

License

This project has been released with the MIT License, you can find the actual license in the top of your jSocket javascript file and in 'license.txt' that comes with the release.

Requirements

  • A browser that has a flash player version 9+.

Browser Compatibility

Currently supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari.

Can it be used as a bridge to get socket working with Javascript on iPhone? iPhone does not support Flash as of now. Thank you.

jsocket requires a browser with javascript AND flash support, as the iPhone doesnt support flash it wont be able to use jsocket.

I have some problems with crossdomain.... Have I to compile again the SWF with Security.loadPolicyFile("http:/mydomain/crossdomain.xml"); ?

hi, aidamina, i use firefox debug jsocket client, when i trace into "var mySocket = new jSocket(ready,connect,data,close);", still can't fire jSocket.onReady() function, is there anything i miss? please correct me, thank.
