|Issue 199:||Can't Start Browsers From JsTestDriver-1.3.1.jar|
|5 people starred this issue and may be notified of changes.||Back to list|
What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Run java -jar lib/JsTestDriver-1.3.1.jar --browser "/usr/bin/firefox" --port 4224 What is the expected output? What do you see instead? It is expected that Firefox opens up, and captures the output. Instead ... nothing happens. In fact, I can give --browser yabbadabba, and get the exact same thing (and no, I don't have a yabbadabba browser, or any other app for that matter). However, running this does start up the test server ... it just doesn't open/auto capture the browser. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 1.3.1 on Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (Karmic)

It turns out this is a documentation bug, not a real bug. This page: https://code.google.com/p/js-test-driver/wiki/GettingStarted says that all you need to do is include a --browser argument, but it lies (lying to brand new users on the very first js-test-driver page they ever see ... classy ;-) ). For anyone else with this problem, you also need to include a --captureConsole argument.

Actually, it is a regression. I just haven't had a moment to fix it.
