jPSXdec is an open source, cross-platform, PlayStation 1 media decoder/converter written in Java.

Requires Java v5 or higher.

Last version here is 0.35 (beta) 4 May 2008 (now deprecated).

jPSXdec aims to be a high quality decoder with well documented source code.

jPSXdec can be used via the command-line, or as a basic GUI. It can save to a series of images with a wav file, or as an AVI file.

Advantages of this program over existing decoders:

• Open source
• Cross-platform
• Higher quality output
• Can decode some unique movie types

jPSXdec is still under development, but the releases should be mostly functional, although under-documented and not heavily tested.
