Thank you for the feedback dosimpedans! First of all I have to correct you, you are mentioning the plugin and not the module, although the same issue applies to the module version of ValAddThis as well.

Yes you are right that there is an issue with the various Facebook Like buttons; what I'm not sure of is the source of the bug, it lies either in the official Facebook script used in the iframes, or the browser(s) itself.

So I list the browsers I've just tested the buttons with the corresponding results:
|| *Browser* || *Result* ||
|| Safari 5.0.5 || Working ||
|| Opera 11.62 || Working ||
|| Internet Explorer 9.0.6 || Working ||
|| Firefox 12.0 || Not Working ||

So the pop-up with the Facebook login form doesn't appear after clicking on the like buttons only in Firefox 12, which seems more like a browser issue to me; though it can be an issue of the Facebook script itself. The code I'm using is the one Facebook suggests at their devs website here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/

I will implement as soon as possible another way to display the FB buttons, by using either HTML5 or XFBML. As soon as I have a working version of both plugin and module ValAddThis I will release an update.

I forgot to mention the button is working properly in Google Chrome v18 as well.

It turned out to be a Facebook-related issue; after testing it today again with Firefox, it worked just fine and the pop-up window with the FB login form displayed correctly. For this reason I have to mark this issue as invalid.
