The Joomla PHP extensions enable custom PHP code to be used in Joomla components, modules and plugins.

There is a Component to create custom PHP pages, a module that allows embedding custom PHP and a plugin to run custom PHP for different Joomla plugin events.

These extensions are developed to make it quick and easy for a PHP programmer to add some code to their Joomla site, without having to develop a full component, module or plugin or hack the Joomla files.
