How to Install and configure the Joomla Module

• First, sign up at the Friend Connect site if you haven't already.
• Get your Site ID.

• Download the module package.
• Login as administrator, and go to Extensions > Install/Uninstall > Upload Package File

• Once you've uploaded the file, go to Extensions > Module Manager and look for the Friend Connect Module listed.

• By clicking on the module name, yo access the module settings, in the Module Parameters section, enter your friendconnect site ID.
• By selecting the Gadget to render option, you can choose which friendconnect gadget to include in your site.

• You can create as many instances of the module as desired, and configure different gadgets for each instance.
• To add a new instance of this module, select an instance of the gadget from the module manager, then click the copy button in the top right of the administration panel. A new module instance will show in the list labeled "Copy of .." click the name of the new instance and adjust the configuration options as required.

Module Parameters

• The module parameters are individually set for each module instance.
• Not all the parameters apply to all gadget types.
• Member Rows: applies to the members gadget only.

• Scope: Applies to comments gadget, reviews gadget, or Social bar's comments, specifies whether the comments/reviews apply to the whole site or the current page.

• Number of posts, allowed content, expand/contract, anonymous posts: same as above, applies to the comments and reviews.

• Header text, and secondary text: Applies to any gadget that requires this setting, at comments gadget, the secondary text line goes into the comments box as the default comment text

• Position: applies to the social bar gadget.

• Alternate content: applies to featured content gadget.

• Recommendations: applies to recommendations gadget and button. Recommendation item title and Recommendation item url, if left blank, the default value is the page title, and page url, the page is the page where the recommendation button is located. • Adsense: applies to the adsense gadget

• Open a new browser and go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect, enter the "Enhance your ads" section

• Link your adsense account with your friendconnect account if you haven't already.

• Now skip step 2 and go to step 3 and generate the code.

• From the generated code, copy the values to the joomla config as shown in the picture below
