First I would like to thank you for doing this :) ... I am eager to test it and see big potential with this when it gets to stable.

Thanks a million for working on this project. Development using Joomla! has been kicked up a notch. This is a great accomplishment. Good luck.

I am having ERROR : Fatal error: Call to a member function needsSigning() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\joomlaX\components\com_jconnect\helpers\openid\Auth\OpenID\Server.php on line 1495

when connect to Joomla from Elgg via "Login using Jconnect"

Comment by gregk...@gmail.com, Jul 26, 2009

Very nice extension. Is there a way to link to the elgg Jconnect from joomla so that there is a seemless single login process between the two?

Comment by project member arunoda....@gmail.com, Jul 26, 2009

@gregkeys

Single login process (AKA Single Sign On - SSO) can be achieved via JConnect (in both directives)

If U log-into joomla .. then in-order to login to elgg what U have do is just clcik the JConnect login button only..

If login to Elgg using JConnect login then you are already logged in-to Joomla...

PS:

In order to achieve total SSO with Elgg users(existing) you've to do a bulk-sync and let-them to login once into Elgg using native elgg login system.. After that use JConnect login so SSO is achieved And any-users U create in Elgg is synced into Joomla so U have do bulk-sync only once. After that SSO is achieved!

Really like the concept, and really want to use this. Tried to set it up, but in Joomla it won't let me synch, giving the error:

  • user Error:(peopleHome) 5 :: Connect error: Connection refused (111)
  • User Groups Cannot be loaded!

I've set all the setting up the way you have in the demo sites (I think). On the current release of Joomla, and a new Elgg install on their current version which just has one user. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I want to help you translate JConnect in French. I already created an account on the translation site, but couldn't add the french language.

Could you add it yourself so i can help tranlating your project ?

I also hope that JConnect will soon be able to ban a Elgg user as soon he is disabled in Joomla. This would allow AEC in Joomla to manage Elgg users authorization, and thus create a proper payment gateway for Elgg...

Anyway, keep up the good job, it looks good so far !

Hi,

Great work on Jconnect, I am in the process of improving our community section on our website and found Jconnect to be perfect. However saying that we have some minor questions we would like to ask.

1. Do we use the native Joomla login module to login into Elgg. 2. I read somewhere that there was a single sign on, has this been implemented yet. 3. Does the end user need to login twice one for joomla and the other for Elgg. 4. IS there a way to redirect the user to Elgg once logged in.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post these questions. If you need any further help improving jconnect from a "End-Admin" and "End-User" point of view I am more then help to help out.

Ryan

Google Friend Connect could be a Option. But I didn't saw any Joomla extension for that. But I wrote a plugin for Elgg.(http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/arunoda/read/305998/google-friend-connect-integration)
