Unofficial ISP Broadband Usage Meter iGoogle Gadget
A Google Gadget that returns all available broadband usage information, including upload, download, throttled, peak and offpeak usage (where applicable) from the ISP. Currently Gadgets exist for Australian ISPs:
With minimal effort the gadget can be copied and modified for other ISPs who provide their usage data in TXT or XML format. Copying and modifying the gadget is deemed the best option to provide separate gadgets for the iGoogle Gadget Content Directory and minimise the size of the Gadget and hence the associated download and render times.Usage Alerts
| Blue | Where Elapsed usage rate is less than 60% (you really should be using more) |
| Green | Where Elapsed usage rate is greater than 60% and less than 80% |
| Yellow | Where Elapsed usage rate is greater than 80% and less than 100% |
| Orange | Where Elapsed usage rate is greater than 100% or Absolute usage is greater than 80% and less than 90% |
| Red | Where Absolute usage is greater than 90% |
Note: Elapsed usage rate is calculated as percentage of Elapsed Usage over percentage of Elapsed Days
Other information displayed (as applicable)
- Estimated date you will reach the plan limit (based on Off Peak limit).
- Date Throttled.
- Estimated Excess Usage charges (if an excess usage cost is applicable and set in preferences).
Work Arounds
- Password Visibility - The password entered in the preferences remains visible until a complete browser refresh occurs, pressing <CTRL><F5> should force the obscured value of *** to be displayed in the preferences (or restart the browser).

- This Usage Meter is built for Australian ISP EscapeNet Broadband Usage around their TXT Usage script.

Optus
- Optus have disabled external access to their usage information - This Gadget is permanently retired - Refer Issue 12 .
