I work on the F-Droid project and was involved in the discussion where it was decided to allow this app have auto updates (the build recipe being updated according to the tag). It should have been mentioned then that the inclusion of prebuilt programs would be a matter that should be discussed before publishing. So let's discuss it now and in the meantime auto updates will be disabled although 2.9.0 can remain.

There is source for grep but it needs to be zipped up, correct? What about iptables though: we have several apps that are in the queue that require iptables and a solution to this would be welcome. ukanth says he built it for afwall+ but has yet to publish the details.

Apologies: when I submitted the app to f-droid initially , I didn't notice that iptables and busybox prebuilts were already there. So when jni/ appeared and I read in the commit log that there would be iptables support for armv-7a I just assumed that it was new.

Thanks for including iptables support (it would be helpful to know where it comes from). However, even though we should be able to build all these with NDK and zip them up and move them into res/raw/, fdroid is failing the build for some reason. Therefore we shall continue to include the prebuilts as before, though with a line in the description mentioning it.
