Support for external directories (directories other than the working dir, where you put the script) is quite buggy, due to Quicktime not recognizing absolute paths. This problem occurs on Windows computers, I can't tell for other operating systems.

You may want to give it a try: simply change the base_folder in index.php and uncomment that line (remove the '//' ). Please give me feedback if you try and succeed. Also, please report any bug.
