Thanks so much for this guide. I would recommend that it be made clearer files like itunesmobiledevice.dll are required and how they are found. Also found that disabling my McAfee? antivirus was required before i could finally open iphonebrowser successfully.

Hi, I have a 1.1.3 activated, unlocked, and jailbroken iphone (all through ziphone 2.4) and i have installed both openSSH and BSDSubsystem but when i connect the phone to the computer iphone browser shows only the sandbox folders like itunes, ringtones, etc. I can't seen any apps, etc. On the bottom it says phone connected, not jailbroken. But that's not actually true, i have many 3rd party apps inside, installeapp etc. I even copied the iTunesMobileDevice.dll file into the same folder as iphonebrowser.exe but nothing changes. Am i missing some 3rd party app on the iphone? Do you know how i can solve this? Thank you Diego

Hi, I have a 1.1.4 activated, unlocked, and jailbroken iphone using ziphone 3.0. I was suffering the same issue - both ibrickr and iphonebrowser would not browse the phone other than the sandbox folders like itunes, ringtones, etc. I followed the fix refer to above at:

and that neatly solved the problem. To help others this means adding "http://i.unlock.no" as a source in the installer app on the phone (go to the top right, edit, add and type in that address). After a refresh of the sources you can download and install "ziphone jailbroker fix" from the "unlocking tools" folder in installer.

Interestingly this even fixes the fact that ibrickr isn't designed to work with firmware 1.1.4 at all.

I have had iPhonebrowser with my iPhone (original, still running 1.1.4) for some months and all of a sudden iPhonebrowser simply crashes when starting. I have no idea why. I did not alter anything on the phone. I can still SSH into it and everything looks okay, and of course the phone works just fine. But I keep some personal data on the phone itself and I need to update those binary files.

Any idea why iPhonebrowser just quit working?

XpressLLC: XP will mount the photo directories as either a camera in XP or as a portable device under windows. You don't need iphone browser to see them.

i need to be able to delete files without backing them up first.. i got 15gb of junk files because of an interruption while syncing.

i selected to delete em all and after 10gb of backup i got a read error and none of the files even got deleted

It won't open at all. I coped iTunesMobileDevice.dll into the dir, and it just won't open. When I have my iPhone plugged in, try opening it and absolutely nothing happens. It opens fine when my iPhone isn't plugged in, which is completely useless. But as soon as I plug it in, the app closes. Anyone know how to fix this?

I will add my voice to the consensus that automatic backup should be optional. I there a way to actually/permamently delete files? Ive tried again and again to delete files but they still appear there as if nothing had happened, and appear to still be taking up space. How do you make them go away?! Nice work. Still, the automatic backup should really be disabled or optional. Because iphonebrowser keeps crashing, usually due to 28 byte files of unknown file types. I can't delete those files because whenever iphonebrowser tries to back them up, it crashes. Did I mention drag&drop isn't working for me? Keep it up though...

I had this program for awhile. Worked great with my iPod Touch 2nd Generation with 2.2.1. After a few months of not using it, i decided to open it again and backup my files. I plugged in my iPod, and the iPhonebrowser crashed. Need help!

I had the same problem but got it to work in windows 98/me compatability mode

I've got FW 3.0 and since I've updated, iPhoneBrowser says "Please plug in your iPhone via USB. If it's already plugged in, disconnect and reconnect it". Still iTunes finds it perfectly...

When get into "go to location" and down to "third parties apps" I can not select any of them. If do "righ click" it only shows the root of the file on the iphone. Is there any way to save as or copy the apps to my PC and back them up later on? The apps I have on this iphone from one of my friend PC synced to my iphone. But i am using my own PC now, and if not saving it, itunes will replace this apps (or all apps) with the current ones in itune library. It means I will lose all the value third parties apps currently installed in my iphone. Really appreciated. Thanks.

I had install iphonebrowser for windows vista. Every time I try to use it, it crashes. Also since I installed iPhone browser, my batter wouldn't charge and would freeze if left idle for about 5 minutes. After uninstalling it and restart my computer, it went back to normal. I went to google recently to see if there was an easier way to move files then I found iphonebrowser, but I seem to have a problem installing it. I download the setup.exe then run it but when it comes to the part where i have to select the usb drive i cant find it on the browse. help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have ALREADY downloaded & installed afc2add on my iPhone! I've uninstalled & reinstalled it twice. Also, my previous iPhone 3G worked fine with this same computer.

I bought iPod touch 3g 2nd hand few weeks back to dig in to this Apple thing. I have upgraded to iOS 4.1, this iPod 3g is 32 gb and not j@ilbreaken. I noticed when I copied a 700 MB avi file from my dual core hp dx2300 desktop it copied within a minute. How ever when I tried to copy same avi file on to my Windows 7 laptop ThinkPad T60 speed was dramatically slow say 8~9 minutes for same avi file? I am pretty sure my T60 has USB 2.0 and I am using same Apple sync cable on both pc's. Any1 had this problem?

Use Wav to make your sms tone, then save it as a .aiff to desktop. Open iPhone Browser then go to system/library/audio/uisound Now find sms-recieved6.caf and delete it. Rename your sms tone on your desktop to the same name of the file you deleted. Now drop and drap into iPhone Browser and done!

Every time I launch any type of iPhone Browser (i-Funbox, iPhone Explorer, this one...) I get an error message saying it can't locate Apple Mobile Device Support. I check my processes in Task Manage (running Windows 7, btw) and it's there, running. How do I fix this?

Ok I downloaded textplus 4.5 from the itunes store but I do not use itunes to sync my iphone because my iphone is jailbroke and it wants to delete everything when you connect it, so I downloaded it and I have it on my pc desktop and want to insert it on my iphone. I have iphone browser but I am not sure where to insert the download to execute it on my iphone, and if you try to download it with the iphone they want you to update to 4.3 firmware which does not work currently on jailbreak. Could you please tell me what folder this executable app would be place in. Thank you

Is there any way to extract the photo albums from the iPhone exactly as they are organized and labeled in the phone? The only way I have figured out so far is to copy "thumbs" which are strangely labeled and seemingly randomly organized. The reason I need to do this is because I lost the photos from a non-backed up computer, and now they ONLY exist on the iphone. (Ya, I know! :)) Thanks.

I have used iphone browser to move all of the songs from my nano to my touch and the touch shows 5point something GB of storage is used up when I open iTunes... however I cannot see / play any songs. It shows that the music library is empty both on the screen of the ipod touch & in iTunes on my computer..... ??

doesn't look like there is a search function. I have tried 3 different file browsers now and none of them have the ability to search for files on the root drive of my jailbroken iPhone! anyone know of a file browser that can search?
