bricktool
Manually Enable / Disable iPhone brick state (DISABLE NO CARRIER ISSUE!)
Introduction
This here program allows you to manually enable / disable the brick state on your iPhone.
If your iPhone no longer makes calls, or appears to have NO SIGNAL then it is likely the firmware has enabled brick mode.
You can now easily disable the brick state with this program (must be compiled first)
Additionally, the brick state can be enabled across reboots of the iPhone. bricktool has been tested on version 1.1.2 of the iPhone software.

What is "brick mode", exactly? Is it the same or similar to lockdown mode?
It is explained above, when you have NO CARRIER when you should have a Carrier (brick mode)
i had a iPhone With No Service i had tried all the possible thinks i can find on the net but i have the 1.0.2ver can this will work on this ver and how to use it can you please explain me in some detail
i accidentally updated to 1.1.2 and after some work i founded how to back to 1.1.1 but with no signal problem. I used rciktool alone with no success... then i tryied iPatcher with booth tools, bricktool and iPatcher (as you can read on the readme) and after nearly two weeks i finally have signal again but when i try to call someone i read "Call Failed"...
frustrating... :-(
2 al3xmor3no: I had the same problem. It looks like 1.1.2 baseband is not compatible to 1.1.1. Either use 1.0.2 or run ieraser. Worked for me.
After an IPSF unlock that went sour, i have been rebuilding my phone. After revirginizing version 1.1.1 and then unlocking via AnySim?, i recieved the "No Service" signal. I then revirginized, ocktoprepped, upgraded to 1.1.2, and unlocked via AnySim? 1.2. I partial success, i now receive a signal but drops out randomly. It is not the carrier signal, i have another iphone on the same network to compare. I can make and recieve calls when signal is present (around 50% of the time). So my phone is PARTIALLY bricked. Is this a job for bricktool?
Is it possible that this can help my situation: One of my iPhones only gets sevice from provider A and not B. With provider A the phone works 100%, but with provider B it searches for the network some seconds before it says "No service".... My other iPhone gets service from both providers, so it must be something with the phone...
Also, I have unlcoked with AnySIM 1.1. Is it just to run bricktool as described without doing anything else?
Excuse the newbie question please.... how does one go about compiling bricktool?
yeah, how does compiling work? (on a mac)
