Zibree, is there any way to turn off the modem from looking for the network (in an area where there is no network present, the phone keeps on looking for service and drains the battery). What does work is turning on the PIN code for the SIM and rebooting the phone. Entering the PIN at some point after the reboot will reconnect to the network (no reboot needed at this point).
It would be nice to have a shell script accessible through an icon on the springboard that can enter the PIN code and reboot the phone if on the network and enter the pin code when off the network so as to reconnect.
Maybe this is possible with a shell script that calls minicom?
PmGR this is not the place for questions. I posted as always a starting point and nobody made any test. I'm getting sick of this. Come on ! EXPERIMENT with commands ! They won't fuck your baseband!
Any way by using AT commands to set a different GSM frequency on the phones? At least one of 4 valid ones (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)?
