Does Google commerce search have a staging environment where you can see the effects of your changes prior to setting them live on your site?
It is possible to preview product changes by setting an appropriate attribute to effectively mark products as private. It's not an environment, per se, but you certainly can see what the results will look like without having to expose them publicly first.
